Life-oriented moral education is put forward on the basis of criticism of traditional moral education. It focuses on moral education rooted in a student's life, going through the life, and returning to the life. It features integration, reflection of life, sociality, reality and practice. Life-oriented moral theory plays a significant role in reconstruction of moral education pattern, and in improvement of activeness, pertinence, and effectiveness in ideology and politics in middle school.Ideology and politics in middle school has found to be unsatisfactory in politicalizing education goal, dogmatic contents, old-fashioned method, and rigid evaluation system, and all of which shall be reformed urgently. Fortunately, the new-round reform of political & ideological curriculum in middle school has provided an opportunity for life-oriented moral education. By application of such theory, it promotes development and reform of political & ideological curriculum, improves moral practice of students, and realizes the value of ideology & politics of middle school.The key to application of such theory is to construct operational mechanism, that is: education goal shall be related to the life and put reality as the first priority, and its goal shall be set from people cultivated far away from the society to the one closely related to it; the education content shall be rooted from the daily life and to create life-related teaching content; the education method shall be close to the life, focusing experience and practice, and students shall be instructed to form good virtues and behaviors; education approach seeks variety and richness. Besides, it's better for students to carry out colorful extra curriculum activities and to establish network connecting families, school and society. Closely related with the life, appraisal system promotes the development of students. Meanwhile, the system is required to be comprehensive in content; appraisals are diversity in subjects, and more importantly, appraisal based on quality should be valued as well.
