A Feasibility Study On Setting Up A Children's Physical Education-Orientated Major In Preschool Teachers Education Colleges In Qiannan Prefecture

With a more extensive concern for the problem of preschool education in China,higher requirements for the professional level of kindergartners have been raised.In the current preschool education system in China,preschool physical education is a very weak link,which is evidenced by the insufficient quantity of professional preschool physical education teachers and the low level of specialization.With the conduct of various physical activities of children in kindergartens,the preschool education teachers available,including physical education teachers available,cannot meet the needs of children's physical education at this stage.Therefore,in order to meet the need of society,it is urgent to set up a children's physical education-orientated major and eventually set up a major of children's physical education.The Institute of Curriculum and Textbooks of Chinese Ministry of Education will launch a study on the integration of moral education,physical education,fine arts and music.It will include the early childhood stage education,promoting the integration of higher,secondary,primary and preschool education as a whole,so as to scientifically establish the learning content and rating standards for each stage.This is a major breakthrough in early childhood education,thus setting a good orientation for discipline training in kindergarten teachers' colleges.In order to further promote the development of early childhood physical education in Guizhou province and to adjust the development thinking and the orientation of physical education major in Guizhou kindergarten teachers' colleges,a research theme — the feasibility of setting up an early childhood physical education-orientated major in Qiannan kindergarten teachers' colleges — has been taken,thus providing basic support for the next step of setting up the major of early childhood physical education.This thesis,by means of literature review,questionnaire,interview,mathematical statistics,logical analysis and SWOT analysis,investigates the current situation of sports activities in kindergartens in rural and urban areas of 12 counties and cities in Qiannan Prefecture,discusses and studies the feasibility of setting up a physical education-orientated major for young children in kindergarten teachers' colleges in Qiannan Prefecture,so as to put forward reasonable countermeasures and suggestions.Research conclusions:1.There are many deficiencies and factors that restrict the development of children's sports in kindergartens in counties and cities of Qiannan Prefecture,which are evidenced by: insufficient playground and equipment for children's sports activities,weak professional knowledge and skills of children's teachers,lack of opportunities for children's sports training and learning,insufficient recognition of children's parents for the importance of children's sports,and lack of professional children's sports teachers.2.There is a serious shortage of preschool physical education teachers,with only 3.5% of them are officially employed by government.Ninetytwo percent of kindergartens show they need professional physical education teachers for young children,and they have relatively higher requirements on the teaching ability of these physical education teachers.3.There are still many difficulties and deficiencies in setting up a preschool physical education-orientated major in kindergarten teachers' colleges in Qiannan,such as: lacking reference objects,professional teachers,and official posts for physical education teachers,as well as insufficient attention by parents.4.Through SWOT analysis of the feasibility of setting up a preschool physical education-orientated major in kindergarten teachers' colleges in Qiannan,this paper fully illustrates the feasibility of setting up a preschool physical education-orientated major in kindergarten teachers' colleges in Qiannan.The college has venues and equipment for curriculum development and 87 fixed education and teaching practice bases.In the college,preschool education and physical education teachers are mature,school enrollment is stable,and there is a real need for preschool physical education talents.5.A growing focus on children's physical education;the state's concern and support for early childhood development;the constantly updated concept of running a preschool education college;the support for running local kindergartens;the nationwide development of children sports;educators' increasing focus on children's physical education;the integration of disciplines of higher,secondary,primary and preschool education;there is really a big demand for preschool physical education talents in Qiannan,which provides favorable conditions for setting up a preschool physical education-orientated major in Qiannan.
