With the continuous development of society and the needs of national education reform,students’ initiative is increasingly emphasized.In the teaching process,it pays attention to the cultivation of students’ exploration of geographical issues,advocates autonomy and cooperation,and inquiry learning,aiming at cultivating talents that are suitable for the comprehensive development of society.The new curriculum standard proposes to change the way students learn in order to cultivate their core cultural literacy.The new learning method should scientifically design the geography classroom teaching process in the course of classroom teaching practice,and use the problem-based teaching(Problem-Based Learning,hereinafter referred to as PBL)to guide students to learn.PBL(Problem-Based Learning,hereinafter referred to as PBL)teaching method is a problem-centered,student-oriented,teacher-led exploratory teaching method.The teacher sets the learning content in the situational problem,and the student obtains the knowledge in the problem through the exploration of the problem,the data review and mutual discussion.The research adopts the literature research method.Through the research on the combination of PBL and teaching at home and abroad,it is found that there is a large research space for combining PBL with geography teaching in township middle schools.After the basic overview and theoretical basis of the PBL teaching method,the case study method was used to design a classroom teaching case suitable for the experimental subjects,and the experimental group and the control group were set to conduct research and comparison of teaching practice.After the end of the teaching,the comparative analysis method was used to analyze the practical results by comparing the test scores of the two groups of students and issuing questionnaires in the experimental group.The following conclusions were obtained:(1)PBL teaching method can improve students’ academic performance,and students with better foundations have higher adaptability to PBL teaching method.(2)From the gender trend of students’ learning performance changes under the two teaching methods,boys are more suitable for PBL teaching methods than girls.(3)The PBL teaching method is conducive to the improvement of teachers’ professional quality.(4)Provides a specific teaching design model based on the PBL teaching method under the curriculum reform in the geography teaching of township middle school high school.The author divides the teaching design of PBL teaching method into four parts: one is to create a problem situation,and the other is to analyze the problem.Collecting data in groups,the third is the answer to the questions,and the fourth is the teaching evaluation.I hope that I can enlighten the thinking of the first-line teachers on the PBL teaching method,and provide reference for the use of the PBL teaching method in the geography teaching of the township high school.
