Science inquiry is the essential characteristic of science and the core idea of science education,and it is also the process of interactive action of creative thinking,experimental operation and logical reasoning.With the increasing change of science and technology,it is bound to lead to greater demand for innovative talents.The attention to science inquiry must also need the corresponding science inquiry assessment with good reliability and validity.At present,the focus of international science education assessment is gradually shifting from the static science content knowledge to the science inquiry process of dynamic cycle.In this regard,the study focuses on the science inquiry assessment projects in recent years,drawing on the experience of large-scale testing in the international field,cooperating with multi-domain experts to develop the interactive science inquiry items,andchoosing the eight graders who have mastered the science inquiry method as the test object to test the quality of the self-compiled science inquiry items.Because science is an inquiry activity based on all things of nature,it is based on evidence and logical reasoning.In the study,the computer-based interactive science inquiry items were developed based on the evidence-centered design(ECD)assessment framework.After that,the quality of the self-compiled items were tested and the science inquiry level of the test samples is estimated by using the Rasch model.In addition,through the writing of the test script to ensure the content validity of the test,through the correlation analysis between the final grade and the level of the scientific inquiry ability of the sample to test the criterion-related validity,through observation the difference between the gender,school and high and low groups in scientific attitude scores to test the differential validity.The results show that:(1)The self-compiled science inquiry items fit well with Rasch model.(2)The overall distribution of item difficulty is negatively skewed,but the average difficulty of the items is moderate.There are significant differences in the difficulty of different types of items,but there is no significant difference between different science inquiry dimensions.(3)The discrimination of the items is good and can discriminate subjects with different level of science inquiry.(4)The science inquiry Level distribution of the subjects was normal distribution.There was no significant difference in gender,but there were significant differences between schools.(5)The items have good reliability and validity.Thus,the self-compiled science inquiry items quality is good,which provides an empirical basis for in-depth research in related fields.
