| As a new method of understanding society,the rise and development of modern social investigation in our country is a very meaningful phenomenon,which has had an important impact on the society at that time and the academic development afterwards.The Republic of China was an important period for the development of social investigation.At that time,the development of social investigation was somewhat influenced by social investigation in Britain and America.This paper takes the social survey of the Republic of China and the social survey of Britain and the United States as the main research objects,respectively examining the development process of the two and comparing the two.The first chapter mainly studies the rise of modern social investigation in our country.It holds that modern social investigation rose in our country since the beginning of the 20 th century and developed rapidly during the Republic of China.The second chapter,taking time and participants as clues,examines the participants of social investigation in the Republic of China,social investigation activities in different periods and important social investigation works.The third chapter examines the development of social surveys in Britain and the United States,and makes case analysis of some important surveys.The last chapter makes a comparative study of the social survey of the Republic of China and that of Britain and the United States by using historical comparison method.This paper finds that during the Republic of China,both rural and urban surveys,sociological and ethnological surveys were more or less influenced by social surveys in Britain and the United States.At the same time,however,the social environment in which the Social Survey of the Republic of China and the Anglo-American Social Survey are located varies,and there are also many differences between them.These differences are reflected in the motives of the survey,the subjects involved in the survey,the contents and methods of the survey,etc. |
