As the society developing, the degree of professional specialization and the content of science and technology are getting higher and higher, and the demand for high-level talent is diversified, which highlights the demand for high-level innovative, applied and compound talents.Full-time Master of Engineering(M.Eng)is the master type that trains engineers in engineering field or people who engaged in engineering technology professional position in engineering field, which profoundly affects the supply of high-level talent in engineering field. At present,M.Eng training is in the critical period of scientific development,so it has theoretical and practical value to study the key link in personal training and take the professional competence as its orientation. This research focuses on the basic topic of “training the professional competence of M.Eng”,and systematically analyzes the following questions: What is the definition and index system of Full-time engineering master's professional competence of M.Eng? What are key elements of M.Eng training and how to affect their professional competence? What measures should be taken to improve the professional competence of M.Eng?Based on the theory of CBE and constructivist learning theory, this paper extracts the index system of professional competence and constructs one theoretical hypothesis model of professional competence training through the methods of research interviews and literature research. And then use Empirical research method such as the questionnaire survey, statistical method of SPSS and SEM to verify the theoretical hypothesis. Finally, according to the lack of training, some feasible measures are proposed to fill in gaps in professional competence training for M.Eng.The main conclusions are as follows: First, professional competence index system consists of four dimensions with 29 indicators concluding professional knowledge and skills, professional development ability, professional comprehensive ability, professional accomplishment, which systematically expounds the various abilities that engineering talents should possess in modern engineering practice;Second, key elements of professional competence training include training environment, training process and learning engagement.Good training environment, including social environment and university environment, can help university to provide high-quality training process;Students' self-perception of the environment and training process, can promote their own engagement so as to achieve the promotion of professional competence;Learning engagement is a mediator between training environment and professional ability, training process and professional ability. In general, this paper provides a reference for university to make training objective of M.Eng,and providing targeted training countermeasures for universities to develop professional competence of M.Eng.At the same time,it is helpful to train high-level applied talents for meeting the needs of knowledge economy society.
