Since 2013,the goal of “rational thinking” in the “core literacy” of curriculum reform has spawned the attention of Chinese educators on the cultivation of high-order thinking ability.However,in the field of visual arts education in China,the research results of high-order thinking cultivation are less,which leads to the teachers not clearing about the goal of cultivating high-order thinking and having no systematic teaching strategy for reference.Therefore,the cultivation of high-order thinking ability is not effective and the course can't be popularized.This study raises the point of view to cultivate students' high-order thinking ability in the "big idea" visual art course and conducts a deep research,which is divided into five chapters.The first chapter demonstrates the advantages and core values of art education for cultivating students' high-order thinking through theoretical basic research,summarizes the results and enlightenment of the current researches in this direction through the combing of relevant literatures home and abroad.In the second chapter,the current status and problems of high-order thinking among high school students and teachers in Shanghai and the implementation situation of the “big idea” visual arts curriculum are explored.In the third chapter,researches on teaching strategy which points to the "big idea" high school visual arts course cultivated by high-order thinking are conducted.Strategies of mind map,wheel of awareness and diversified evaluation are brought in respectively in curriculum planning,teaching activities and teaching evaluation.In the fourth chapter,three unit courses are developed independently based on the teaching strategy of the previous chapter.Respectively,the three unit courses discuss and express the "cultural propagation" from the perspective of design,the "expression of love" from the perspective of film and television works and the "thinking on human nature" from the perspective of sculpture.The courses use the important humanistic topics as the course content,take the project-based teaching as the method and finally achieve the goal of cultivating students' high-order thinking ability.The fifth chapter analyzes the effectiveness of the course implementation through testing students' high-order thinking ability after teaching the courses.
