Tradition Succession:Division Practice And Transition Under The Perspective Of Household System

This dissertation concludes that as:the social time and space changes,household division has different characteristics in different Chinese society.stages.We can realize the social change and transformation.Division Practice constantly changed.in traditional Chinese society or land collectivism period or in modern Chinese countries.In traditional Chinese society,The authority of the father which dominants house division and the process;sons' desire for property which makes the house division haggle over every ounce.In the land collectivism period,The authority of the father,the sons actively promotes house division.house division process become simpler and the procedure of house division is simplified.In modern Chinese countries,one-son family division appears.The trend of one-son family division bears three features:some families carry out house division;others may not implement house division;still others may reunion after house division.This paper selects the typical household of Chen Jinyun in area of Hunan Province Xiangtang Wushi Bawan village to show the influence on house division practices as a result caused social change.
