Family Caregivers Of Alzheimer Disease Stress Coping Study

China has been an aging society,Alzheimer's disease(AD)will become increasingly common.Because of progressive development and absence of effective treatment method,the situation of patients are getting worse,hence family caregivers need devote more time and effort.In the long-term care tasks,family caregivers will inevitably gain much pressure physically and mentally,which terribly affects the health of both the patients and their families.So home caregiver has caught much more attention and becomes a focus among social psychology researching hotpots in recent years.These studys generally focus on household caregiver stress levels and influencing factors,however the positive effect produced by the stress is absurdly ignored without adequate assessments,such as a better understanding of family relationships.And the positive effects will benefit the process of caring for the patients in return.Therefore based on Lawton's two-factor model of care experience,the situation of Shanghai is investigated in this paper,where the both the positive and negative factors are all taken into consideration with qualitative research method.Based on the support of pressure theory and social support theory,the support of pressure theory,social support theory and spiritual perspective,this study summarized the source of stress source of stress of for family caregivers,and the way they respond,are summarized as well as and the factors that affect the stress of family caregivers.The study focuses on the subject of stress in Alzheimer's family caregivers,analysising the factors that influencs stress response of family caregivers.Specifically including:what are the difficulties and pressures in daily care for family caregivers?How to solve and deal with?What factors affect the stress of family caregivers?In this paper,the first-hand information of 16 cases of Alzheimer's disease family careers in Yangpu District and Songjiang District of Shanghai were collected by qualitative research method,then the interview data were selected,coded and archived.The study found the stress of the caregiver comes from three levelsaspects:economic condition,physical condition and mental condition.In front of the care pressure,not all family caregivers will respond negatively.Based on self-defense mechanism and individual spirituality,they will instinctively take some countermeasures.Based interview statistics,it was found popular methods contained crying out,self-relaxation,talking to friends or relatives,self-consolation,self-affirmation,to understand the meaning of companion,praying and seeking support.Among those methods,individual subjective self-regulation and support from the family were first ones used by family caregivers.So they could get a breather time and release the care pressure.The factors,which affect the stress response of family caregivers,from four perspectives:individual related factors,cognitive status,spirituality and social support.Each factor not only determined the pressure resource of home caregivers but also the way they coped with the pressure.Based on the above exploration and analysis,from the social work model,this paper will make some suggestions to raise the level of stress coping for family caregivers and improve the lives and quality of life of family caregivers.Hoping to improve the research system of family caregivers in our country,enrich the content of old social work and promote the theoretical and professional development of our old service.This paper is divided into six parts.The first chapter is the introduction.Mainly elaborated research background,research question and significance.The second chapter is the literature review,mainly to define the relevant concepts:the literature review,social support and spiritual perspective of the literature summarized.The third chapter is the research method and process.Mainly elaborated the research object,research methods and insufficient of research.The fourth chapter is based on the summary of the material,describes the source of stress for Alzheimer's family caregivers and their coping style.The fifth chapter describes the factors that affect the way home caregivers respond to stress.Respectively from the individual demographic related factors,cognitive status,spiritual status and social support to analyze.The sixth chapter is the conclusion and suggestion.Firstly describing the research conclusion.Secondly giving a brief proposal from the promotion of individual spiritual and the expansion of individual social support network two aspects.
