The popularity of higher education leads to the increasing demand. The government and the society have formed complete higher education system according to the large demand.Even so,the demand is the key factor of educational research, especially in the situation of higher education expansion. The impact on demand factors could provide the factual evidence for matching supply and demand. As far as domestic and foreign research have been concerned, most of them have conducted in-depth discussions on the demand for higher education, and they have discussed in varying degrees whether from the perspective of the social micro-structure or the macro-economic benefits. However, most of them focus on higher education itself, and compared it to other levels of education, such as basic education and secondary education.and less discussion on different levels of education but education at the same level.Especially lacking of the domestic research.Behind the students' different levels of education is the student's family and the capital they represent, and they have different influence on their academic achievements and career choices. In the face of unprecedented development of private higher education, what is the relationship between the family capital behind students and the choice of private higher education for students? The paper takes quantitative analysis as the main research method, selecting two representative high schools in Meizhou,Guangdong, and using 311 senior high school students to analyze. The study found that family capital created conditions for students' choice needs. The result is as follows: Firstly, the economic capital is positively related to students' choice of private institutions of higher learning, but not significant.Secondly,Social capital has a positive correlation with students' choice of private colleges and universities, and it's significant.Thirdly, cultural capital is positively related to students' choice of private institutions of higher education but not significant.Fourth, family structure and students' gender have different influence on students' choice of private institutions of higher learning, that students' gender, number of siblings and household registration are negatively related to students' choice of private institutions of higher learning.Based on the fact that it can be further concluded that the demand of students for private higher education is a manifestation of a rational demand behavior. Before they make the best choice,The family capital represented by economic capital, social capital, and cultural capital in the family creates the material and non-material conditions for students to make rational demand choices. Therefore,as a factor that affects the students' demand for private higher education,it is also an important consideration for the development of private higher education, and will also have a certain significance for the development of private colleges and universities. It must pay attention to guiding the public to understand private institutions of higher learning from the perspective of family capital and optimize the structure of personnel training.
