The Comparative Study Of Rio Olympics Report Framework Between Tencent And NBC Olympics Website

As a major global sports event,There is no doubt that the 2016 Rio Olympic Games attracted the attention of the people and the media all over the world.It is said that the Internet media's coverage of the Olympic Games represents the highest level of Internet media sports news communication.Therefore,this paper selects Tencent Sport,which is the most representative website of the domestic network media sports coverage,compares it with the the most influential Olympic site for the U.S.National Broadcasting Company(NBC)in the United States,then analyzes their reporting frameworks.The purpose is to find out their advantages,features,and tactics in coverage of major sports events,to find out the innovation,deficiencies and problems that exist in the network media coverage during the Rio Olympic Games.And it puts forward opinions on how to improve the method and quality of network media coverage.This paper selects Tencent Rio Olympic special website and the NBC Rio Olympic special website as the research object,selects the report articles from August 6 to August 22,2016 during the Rio Olympic Games match day as research samples.This research uses the framework theory as the theoretical basis,and uses documentation analysis,comparative analysis,case analysis and other research methods.Analyze through the frames of themes,structures and discourse,by using quantitative comparison and case analysis of the ten dimensions included topics setting,coverage angle,content,coverage,humanities and special topics etc.of the two websites,then summarize the differences and their causes.Through analysis,the thesis has drawn the following conclusions: Tencent has a wide range of topic frame for the race coverage.NBC has a wide range of topic frame for the non-race coverage,it covers the political,economic,cultural,sustainable development and so on.Tencent has much more special topic reports that show a strong entertainment and innovative.The two websites are full coverage of report genre.The content of the article presents the characteristics of decentralization and fragmentation.According to the research,it has been found that the Internet media's coverage of the Olympic Games show a marked personality and depoliticization.Meanwhile,it reflects the changes of our national sports values etc..The difference is mainly reflected in the diversity of non-race coverage,the objectivity of reporting on controversial events,the discourse style of the articles,the normative writing,the ideological content of the articles,and the differences in cultural values.
