In recent years,the world has paid more and more attention to vocational education.In June 2014,the State Council of C hina promulgated a ducument named "on Speeding up the Development of Modern Vocational Education",whic h brought good opportunities for the development of vocational education.Training skilled talents and professional farmers is the new task of the vocation education.In such a context,this article focuses on the secondary vocational education of agricult ure at Maoming,Guangdong Province and analyzes the problems and their countermeasures.The purpose is to provide reference for the fast and fast development of agricultural secondary vocational education in this areaResearch shows that although the progress,there are a few problems with the secondary vocational education of agriculture at Maoming city,including:(1)Insufficient funds;(2)Insufficient stutents and poor quality of student sources;(3)the narrow scope of agricultural majors;(4)The disjointing between the quality of teaching and trainning and the enterprises' s requirments for talents.This study argues that vocational education at Maoming must be geared to the market and agricultural majors must train farmers that can meet the skill needs of the market,moving from "supply-driven development" to "demand-driven development".As for the existing problems,such measures below should be taken:(1)to build a flexible mechanism,expand the scale,and improve efficiency;(2)to implement the scientific teaching,training mode and method,and improve the quality of students;(3)to build an excellent team of teachers;(4)to cultivate the artisan spirit among the students craftsman;(5)to scale up the government's policy and finance support.
