Deconstruction And Reshaping Of Western Discourse By Netizens From The Anti-Baizuo Trend Of Thought

Since 2016,a series of changes have taken place in the global political structure.How to deal with the increasingly unstable world situation with a new attitude is a problem China is facing.In this context,how Chinese netizens express the current relationship between China and the world is a very interesting topic,and the "Baizuo"discourse provides a good perspective for this."Baizuo "(white left)is the combination of "White people" and "left wing" labels,whose discourse production,distribution and consumption are all completed in the Chinese network,but it refers to the related issues of Western politics,so it involves a cross-context process.This thesis takes "Baizuo"discourse as the cut-in point,chooses the relevant texts of the Zhihu community as the research sample,and tries to analyze the social trend of thought and its connotation reflected behind the discourse.As a social discourse,"Baizuo" has broader room for interpretation.With the theory and method of virtual ethnography and critical discourse analysis,this thesis interprets" Baizuo"discourse from three dimensions:text,discourse practice and social practice.Through the descriptive analysis of the text,this thesis clarifies the concepts and problems related to" Baizuo".In the lexical meaning,"Baizuo" not only has the label meaning as a group,but also has a strong moral critical and value meaning in the manifest intertextuality relationship with "ShengMu" and "political correctness".And on the level of wording,"Baizuo" is constructed in a mixed way of various discourse categories,and the "political correctness" of "Baizuo" can be understood as a "retelling"of "universal value";Secondly,from the perspective of discourse practice,there are presuppositions in questioning texts of Zhihu community,and the rhetoric in the answer texts produces the knowledge framework of "Baizuo".Next,Baizuo discourse is distributed in the genre of "network political discussion".Finally,the consumption of "Baizuo" discourse has several ways,such as being accepted,waiting to be explained and resisting reading;Thirdly,in terms of social practice,this thesis summarizes the two narrative modes in Baizuo discourse:nationalism and class.In terms of ideological construction,the anti-Baizuo group uses "de-politicization" as a tool of discourse struggle,and constructs the narrative of "Western decline,Eastern rise" in the process of "re-politicization".In the part of discussion,this thesis looks into the future of the social trend of thought behind "Baizuo" discourse,and proposes that "Baizuo" discourse embodies a"world-wide" vision,and provides a possibility for thinking about a different path outside neoliberalism.The trend of thought behind "Baizuo" discourse deserves further attention,excavation and guidance.
