The reform of biology curriculum is advancing steadily.The core competence of biology is not only the research achievements of curriculum reform,but also the sharp weapon to promote curriculum reform.The history of science has been widely recognized as an educational value in cultivating students 'scientific literacy,scientific research ability,scientific spirit,and humanistic literacy,which can be used as a good material for cultivating students' core literacy.In teaching activities,using the history of biological science is conducive to cultivating students' concept of life,rational thinking,scientific inquiry,and social responsibility.Teaching materials are essential in the teaching process,and it is of great significance to present and analyze the content of the history of science in biology textbooks for junior high school.This study selected the middle school biology materials which is currently in use in Henan province as the object of research.After investigation,it is learned that there are three versions of junior high school biology textbooks in use in Henan province,which are respectively published by people's education press,Jiangsu Fenghuang education press and Beijing normal university press.These textbooks are new ones published by the textbook writers based on the "Compulsory Education Biology Curriculum Standards(2011 Edition)",which has been substantially revised and published.Based on a great number of theoretical research,this article analyzes and compares the content of the history of science in three versions of textbooks.Referred to the previous research results,the author compiled the "Analysis Table of the Scientific History of Junior High School Biology Textbooks".The main analytical dimensions of the history of science including: layout,first-level themes of the history of science,materials for the history of science,and learning activities.The author also defines the sub-dimensions,third-level dimensions and relevant operational definitions under each main dimension.By analyzing the contents of science history in biology teaching materials,the thesis aims to obtain the characteristics of science history content in each edition of biology teaching materials in junior high school.The main conclusions of this thesis are as follows:(1)Similarities in compiling the history of science content in biology textbooks for junior high school: The three versions of biology textbooks for junior high school were compiled with the content of the history of science.The content of the history of science has value tendency and objectivity.Most of the content of the history of science appear in the form of pictures and words in the teaching material of each position.The distribution of the content of the history of science in textbooks is closely related to the arrangement of chapters in textbooks.There are many modern and contemporary scientists in the history of science.The information of scientists is relatively brief,and the number of female scientists is too small to reflect the concept of gender equality.The types of materials for the history of science are diverse.The history of science learning activity is relatively simple.(2)Differences in the compilation of science history content in biology textbooks for junior high school: The amount of history of science in the three sets of textbooks is different from each other.The main position of the content of the history of science in each set of textbooks is very different.the compiling tendency of the history of science varies greatly,and the objectivity of the content of the history of science is emphasized differently.There are discrepancies in the translation of foreign scientists' names.Different textbooks differ greatly in the types of materials for the history of science.The nature,level and form of the learning activity of history of science vary greatly in different textbooks.(3)Suggestions for compiling the history of science content in biology textbooks for junior high school: When selecting the content of the history of science,the teaching material should be accurate and objective.The textbook needs to present the scientists' complete personal information.Textbooks need to increase the number of women scientists in the history of science.The history of science column should be added to introduce the history of science;Editors should be more inclined to choose the content of the history of biological science in China.
