Since fall 2004, the Jinan version of biology textbooks for junior high school have been usedin Jinan. The Renjiao version has been replaced gradually since the first semester of 2004, and inthe end of 2006, the whole set of textbooks has been replaced completely. It is a worthwhilesubject of knowing from which point of view and under which kind of standard to estimate thequality and value of the Jinan version of biology textbooks for junior high school relativelyscientifically. There are two aims to estimate and analyze the Jinan version textbooks: being areference for services units to select textbooks;giving suggestions to textbook writing units onimproving textbooks quality. Based upon the spirit of the new round of course reformation in ourcountry, upon the function of textbooks and the feature of biology, by making reference to thetextbook estimation and analysis theory both here and abroad, this article set up four perspectivesand twenty two standards, and based on the above, by collecting data and editing articles, thisarticle analyzes and estimates the Jinan version of textbooks relatively objectively. There are threesteps to analyze and estimate the textbooks:Step 1: text analysisBy reading through the textbook, we know about the text entity of the Jinan version ofbiology textbook. By comparing with the same kind of biology textbooks both here and abroad, itgives general introduction and analysis to the textbook, including the analysis of the basic data,the background and guiding ideology, the purposes, the content system of the textbook, teachingdesign, and the editing quality of the textbook, etc.Step 2: questionnaire investigation By the questionnaire investigation, this article collects some dynamic info and data whichreflects the textbook quality, and performs statistic analysis. The investigation includes: theteachers and students' fulfillment to the textbook;teachers and students' opinions and suggestionson the sciential and scientific perspectives of the textbook;teachers and students' opinions andsuggestions on the course and methodological perspectives of the textbook;teachers and students'opinions and suggestions on the emotional altitude and values perspectives of the textbook;teachers and students' opinions and suggestions on the editing quality of the textbook.Step 3: giving suggestions on reformation Based on the two steps above, this article gives suggestions on textbook reformation;theselection and arrangement of the textbook must comply with the knowledge-base, psychologicalcharacteristics and cognizant law.;make it more accurate;make it more systematic and integrated;the textbook must be easy to teach and learn;make full use of the textbook to help students buildup new knowledge systems themselves.The new round of course reformation is carrying on. The three levels course managementregulations have been set up. The textbooks are more various. Under the circumstance mentionedabove, this article estimates and analyzes the Jinan version of biology textbook for junior highschool. It helps to make relatively objective and scientific judgment to the quality and values oftextbooks, or it provides basis of the judgment for the textbook writers and users to makedecisions when spreading, selecting and using the textbook. This article will also help form thetextbook estimation and analysis pattern.
