Ski tourism, spa tourism, and golf tourism are known as the world's three major holiday and leisure tourism activities.Sk is also one of the world's major altitude sports Accompanied by the transformation of ski sports from the elite to the masses, the global ice and snow industry was spawned. The expansion of its industrial scale, the extension of the industrial chain, and the economic benefits of the derivative industry are rapidly developing beyond people's expectations.Since the 1980 s,the first batch of ski resorts and supporting facilities have been successively built in the northeast and north of China. After the third Asian Winter Games in 1996 was held in Harbin,China's ice and snow sports entered a period of rapid development.Ice and snow sports began to gradually shift from competitive sports to mass sports. The number of ice-snow tourists has increased dramatically since 1996,the number of ski trips has reached 17.5 million in 2017,showing a huge potential for market development, and a basic ice and snow industry pattern with the northeast and north China regions as the core areas has been formed. However, the current development of China's ice and snow industry, whether in terms of theoretical level or construction level,is still far behind that of European and European traditional ski powerhouses.Just in time for the 2022 Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympics,a large number of new ski resorts will be completed and put into operation.According to the “Snow and Winter Sports Development Plan(2016-2025)” issued jointly by the State General Administration of Sports, the Ministry of Education, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the National Tourism Administration,by 2022,the total number of ski resorts in China will increase to 800,and the length of the skis will reach 3500 km,the area of the snow track will reach 100 million m2.It is estimated that by 2025,China's ice and snow industry system will initially take shape and it will begin to take shape in the development of the ice and snow sports industry with a relatively complete industrial system.More than 50 million people participated in the ice-snow sports and led to "300 million people on the ice."In view of this, this paper takes the core area of snow and ice industry in the world the Alps region and the core area of China's ice and snow industry the North China and Northeast regions of as research objects, discusses the spatial structure and industrial structure of the small town group based on the ice and snow industry, and selects the core ice and snow towns in the region.Chaomonix and Chongli to do focus analysis. To explore the development path of China's ice and snow industry core areas and key small towns under the 2022 Winter Olympics by comparative studies on two scales. The spatial development strategy of small cities and towns based on the snow and ice industry in China must not only be oriented towards the preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympics but also the long-term development after the 2022 Winter Olympics. Therefore,to study the development patterns and laws of the mature ice and snow market in the world is of great significance for guiding the sustainable development of small cities and towns in China based on the ice and snow industry..
