A Study On The Influence Of Wage On The Excessive Labor Of New Generation Migrant Workers

With the rapid development of the social economy,the pace of work and life is accelerating,people face more pressure,and the labor problem of workers is becoming more and more serious.It has become a serious economic and social problem,which has caused a wide range of scholars.attention.However,the current research on the problem of excessive labor in the academic circles mainly focuses on the group of mental workers.There is less concern for the manual workers,especially the new generation of migrant workers,and the new generation of migrant workers has become the main employment group in the migrant workers group.In 2017,the proportion of this group to the total number of migrant workers has reached 50.5%.As an emerging force in urban construction,the question of whether there is excessive labor in their employment is worthy of attention.Under the guidance of the existing research foundation and labor supply theory,this paper uses the 2016 China Labor Dynamics Survey Database(CLDS2016)to obtain data on the working hours,employment,income,etc.of the new generation of migrant workers,and analyzes the wage level for the new generation of migrant workers.The specific impact of labor and excessive labor.In this paper,a total of 1048 valid samples are eligible,accounting for 9% of the total database.In this paper,normal wages and overtime pay are used as independent variables.The sample with overtime pay is 456,gender,marital status,education level,skill level,Whether there are personal characteristics and job characteristics such as operating income,unit nature,and position as control variables,excessive labor as a dependent variable,and non-excessive labor,mild excessive labor,severe excessive labor,and severe excessive according to the degree of excessive labor.Labor,the number of samples is 291,303,281 and 173.This paper firstly summarizes and descriptive statistics on the salary status,excessive labor status and other characteristics.Secondly,it uses the binary Logit model to analyze the impact of normal wages and overtime pay on the overwork of the new generation of migrant workers.Different genders and different educational levels were used to conduct sub-sample regression to discuss its heterogeneity;multiple logit models were used to analyze the impact of normal wages and overtime pay on the excessive labor level of the new generation of migrant workers.The study found that in the full sample analysis,under the control of control variables,normal wages and overtime wages have a significant positive impact on the excessive labor and excessive labor of the new generation of migrant workers.For every one yuan increase in normal wages,the incidence of excessive labor is 1 times that of non-excessive labor,the probability of mild excessive labor increases by 0.032%,the probability of severe excessive labor increases by 0.062%,and the probability of severe excessive labor increases by 0.088%.For every one yuan increase in overtime wages,the incidence of excessive labor is 1 times that of non-excessive labor,the probability of severe excessive labor increases by 0.061%,and the probability of severe excessive labor increases by 0.089%.In the case-by-sample regression analysis,the effects of wage levels on the excessive labor of the new generation of migrant workers are different in gender and education.Normal wages and overtime wages have a significant positive impact on the excessive labor of the new generation of migrant workers of different genders and education levels,and have a greater impact on the excessive labor of female new generation migrant workers and low-educated migrant workers.To this end,this paper proposes corresponding suggestions from the government,enterprises and individuals to alleviate the excessive labor situation of the new generation of migrant workers.From the government level,the government should clarify the relevant legal provisions on wage income,overtime wage base,and labor hours,and try to incorporate excessive labor into the legal system;strengthen supervision over wage income and labor hours,and strengthen labor security supervision and enforcement.From the enterprise level,enterprises should strictly implement the relevant provisions of the labor law,reasonably distribute wages,sign labor contracts with laborers,and strengthen vocational skills training for workers.From a personal perspective,the new generation of migrant workers should improve their educational level and strengthen their skills;strengthen their awareness of rights protection and rationally balance work and life.
