According to the report of the 19 th National Congress,in the past five years, the urbanization rate in China has increased by 1.2 percentage points annually, and more than 80 million agricultural Floating populations have become urban residents. In the trend of urbanization, what behind the improvement of urbanization level in big cities is the continuous growth of China's economy, and the urbanization of Chinese cities is also evolving toward urbanization, and the phenomenon of population gathering in large cities is widespread. In the long run,the mobility and urbanization of the population is an irresistible trend. As a producer of the city, the migrant population,as a consumer, should have the right to enjoy the development of the city.Whether the floating population and their children can share the good benefits brought about by urban development involves not only is the key to solving the problem of left-behind children, but also the fairness of resource allocation. Then,it is easier for migrants to find their children in the large-scale cities,or it is easier to realize the children's follow-up in small-scale cities. We need to identify this issue. Therefore, studying the scale of the city in this process has important practical significance for the impact of the children of the floating population. This paper explores the influence of city size on the follow-up of migrant children and its mechanism from the theoretical analysis and empirical analysis. The priobit and iv-probit models are used to test the impact and its mechanism, and a series of robustness is carried out.And heterogeneity test, and finally put forward countermeasures and suggestions based on the actual situation and research conclusions. This paper uses the 2016 national mobile population health plan dynamics survey data and the urban statistical yearbook.Based on the theoretical analysis, the empirical model is used to verify the impact of city size on the mobility of children of migrant population and its mechanism. The results show that:(1)After the endogeneity test and the robustness test, the city scale has a significant negative correlation with the influence of the children of the floating population, that is,the larger the city size, the proportion of the children of the floating population The lower.(2)There is individual heterogeneity in the impact of city size on the mobility of children of floating population. The migration of preschool children aged 5 and below is relatively less affected by the size of the city, while 6-14 years old and 11-14 years old The child's move with parents is relatively more affected by the size of the city.Compared with those whose parents have an average years of education under the university, the average parental age of the children at the university and above is relatively less affected by the size of the city. The longer the parents' willingness to stay, the more likely their children will be affected by the size of the city, and for the group that does not plan to live in the inflow area for a long time, the children's follow-up will be less affected by the size of the inflowing city.(3)The negative impact of urban scale on the migration of children of floating population is more obvious in the eastern region, slightly weaker in the non-eastern region;more obvious in the northern region and slightly weaker in the southern region.(4)The size of the city affects the follow-up of the children of the floating population through the channels of “public service” and “income-cost”.First,the larger the city, the smaller the per capita possession of education and medical public services, and the lack of education and medical care makes it impossible for the children of migrants to enjoy normal education and medical services in the inflow of their parents, thereby reducing their children. The rate of follow-up.Second,the larger the city, the higher the income and the higher the cost of living.High income is the pulling force of children's follow-up.The high cost of living is the driving force of children's follow-up.Compared with the two,the high cost has a greater thrust on the children's movements than the impact of high income.
