Urban Adaptability Research And Social Work Intervention Strategies Of The"Elder Immigrants"

It has been 40 years since the reform and opening up,with the rapid development of economy,the speed of urbanization and population aging has been accelerating,but the geographical imbalance of economic development still exists,and the labor flow is also frequent,among the floating army are a group of " Elder Immigrants " who have aged and not migrated for economic reasons.Some of them come from the countryside,some come from small cities,or they want to take care of their grandchildren for their children,or migrate to the cities where their children live for family reunion.Due to the aging of bodily functions,family intergenerational conflicts,weak social support networks,and imperfect welfare policies in different places,they have encountered various social adaptation difficulties in unfamiliar cities,and the seriousness of the problems has gradually become prominent.However,there is less research on this group in domestic academic circles,and attention is still focused on other migrants such as migrant workers.With the full opening of the second-child policy,the size of the “Elder Immigrants” group will continue to expand,the traditional concept of family pension and family-based thinking has prompted a group of old people to embark on the path of mobility.The old man is the wealth of our society.In order to build a harmonious society,how to promote the social adaptation of the " Elder Immigrants " is our heavy responsibility.The " Elder Immigrants " selected in this paper refers to the rural elderly who share the pressure of their children,assist their children to take care of their grandchildren or move with their children to urban life,and use the literature research method and semi-structured interview method to 8 people in F community of Gongyi City,Henan Province.Under the guidance of push-pull theory,cultural feedback theory and intergenerational relationship theory,this paper analyzes the social adaptation dilemma of " Elder Immigrants " from the four dimensions of cultural adaptation,role transformation,social network adaptation and psychological adaptation,and analyze the influencing factors that cause the social adaptability difference of the “Elder Immigrants”.Based on the analysis results,the intervention strategy is proposed from the perspective of social work,in order to improve the urban social adaptability of the “Elder Immigrants” and improve the urban life satisfaction.
