Front And Behind The Scenes:a Social Interaction Study Of Villagers In A Clan-type Village

The traditional agricultural tool is the bright pearl in the history of Chinese agriculture.However,the modern agricultural tool has gradually replacing traditional agricultural tools.Under the condition that the functional value of traditional agricultural tools lost,the multiple values of aesthetics,history,culture and economy are explored and studied by the academic circles.But these values of traditional agricultural tools are excavated based on its actual existence.Dufang Village,a clan-type rural community in Yingtan City,Jiangxi Province,is selected as a field investigation site.The well-preserved traditional agricultural tools,ancient water pestle,was selected as the main object of investigation.the folk culture,characteristics,formation and evolution of the ancient water pestle are investigated.And the reasons of why it is preserved at various times are investigated.It finds that the people as the main body of the rural community,the change of the needs of them is the fundamental motivation for the development and utilization of the water pestle.The demand for agricultural development,economic interests,clan culture,and villagers' identification of their own folk roles in the village community of Dufang Village affects the social interaction of the villagers to a certain extent,thus affecting the daily behavior logic of the villagers,thus affecting the water It has been preserved and developed in different periods.Using the method of the process-event,the process of development and utilization of water pestle is reproduced from the discourse and life aspects of the villagers in Dufang Village,revealing the villagers of the clan-type villages under different periods,under the internal environment and the external environment,in economic rationality and value rationality how to do the social interaction and the results and significance of interaction.The first chapter explains the reasons,research significance and methods of the topic.The second chapter describes the environment of villagers' social interaction with the water pestle.The village is a natural-originated agricultural community.The agricultural culture and clan culture are the important folk customs of Dufang Village.The water pestle is the product of traditional agriculture and also is the development of clan product.The third and fourth chapters use Goffman's "front" and "background" theories to reproduce the social interactions between the villagers around the water pestle front and behind the scenes and write the results and meaning of the interaction.The fifth chapter is in the folk custom environment.The development and utilization of the water pestle in Dufang Village and the preservation of the water pestle have beenthe result of the villagers' clan culture in the clan environment in order to satisfy their own folk role identification and return to the folk life,satisfy their own economic interests and emotional belonging.
