In recent years, with the continuous development of the orienteering sport in China, various types of orienteering competitions have been launched in various places, attracting many orienteering enthusiasts to participate in the game. The increase in competitions has promoted researchers' research on orienteering, and many research literatures on training methods, technical elements, competition resources, mapping, and cognitive decision-making have emerged. At the same time, these literatures in turn promote the development of orienteering.Coaches at all levels learn the literature and apply the training methods, map drawing, and competition skills to daily training, thereby promoting the development of orienteering in China. The problems were discovered in the phenomenon.During the author's four-year orienteering training and competition process,a series of problems were also found. In the continuous pondering and exploration with the coach and teammates, the famous forward-looking memories in psychology were discovered. This theory was combined with directional movement and found to be interrelated. And apply this theory to the training of orienteering,in order to improve the athlete's ability to recognize pictures, thereby improving athletic performance, hoping to provide a small amount of power for the development of orienteering. This article uses the most common competition in orienteering as short-distance orienteering as a medium. It mainly explores whether the relevant theories of prospective memory and training have a significant effect on improving athletes' ability to recognize pictures in short-distance orienteering. This article mainly uses the literature method, the expert interview method, the experimental method, the mathematical statistics method, and the logic analysis method to carry on the inquiry. For this purpose, two experiments were conducted.Experiment 1 randomly selected subjects participating in the short distance competition in the orienteering competition held in the province for the prospective memory test, and explored 2(type of athletes: valid;invalid)× 2(task Importance: the task is important;the task is not important)Two-factor experiments, and from this the conclusion is drawn about the correlation and interaction between the performance of prospective memory and the type of athlete.According to the conclusion of Experiment 1,the new training methods and intervention measures are summarized by combining the relevant theories of prospective memory and existing orienteering training methods. In the second experiment, players from the Shandong Youth University of Political Science were selected as participants for the orienteering short distance competition. They were divided into experimental group and control group according to their rank and gender. The experimental group was trained on prospective memory and theoretical intervention, and the control group was conducted according to the regular training plan. After 12 weeks of training, the directional cross-country short-distance race was conducted again. The results of this competition were selected from the directional cross-country series held in the province.Based on the two results, the participants' skill percentage was calculated.Percent of skills were analyzed by T test. The article conclusions are as follows:1.Athletes with effective short-distance directional cross-country performance have a shorter prospective memory response than those with invalid results, that is,the response is relatively rapid, and the accuracy of prospective memory is slightly higher than that with invalid results. There is no correlation between the forward-looking memory response and the gender and age characteristics of the athlete, and the correctness of the forward-looking memory has a significant correlation with the gender of the athlete, and there is a positive correlation;there is a significant correlation with the age of the athlete Relationship, there is a positive correlation.2.For performance-effective athletes, the importance of the task has a significant effect on the completion of prospective memory;for performance-ineffective athletes, whether the prospective memory is important has no significant change in the completion of individual prospective memory, but compared with the baseline level and the completion level of important prospective memory tasks is better.3.After 12 weeks of training, the ability to recognize pictures of the experimental group and the control group has been improved to varying degrees.4.Prospective memory theory intervention training for the experimental group can have a positive effect on athletes' ability to recognize pictures, and girls progress faster than boys.Especially in terms of improving the accuracy of athletes.
