Because of our country's elementary education reform measures and the transformation of social family structure,the issue of care and education for students after school has become the focus of attention of families and society.In 2017,the Ministry of Education promulgated the "Guiding Opinions on Conducting After-School Service for Primary and Middle School Students(Trial)" to solve this problem.The Education Bureau of Jinan also promulgated related policies to provide after-school service.At present,almost all primary and secondary schools in the urban area have provided after-school service.However,after-school service is just beginning to be provided in Underdeveloped Country Area.The questionnaires,interviews and observations are used to investigate township primary schools in District C of Jinan City.The first purpose is to provide reference for the development of after-school service work in the region by investigating the parents' perceptions,expectations and needs of school after-school service.The second purpose is to put forward suggestions for improvement by summarizing the problems in the school's after-school service work.This study first summarizes domestic and foreign researches on after-school service,and clarifies the main content of the research.Secondly,according to the after-school service policy of The Education Bureau of Jinan and the investigation on the implementation of after-school service in District C,this study selects L primary school for investigation and interview.The questionnaire and interview outline are designed according to the actual situation of L primary school.The questionnaire is to investigate the current supply and demand situation of after-school service in the area.The interview outline is to learn more about the development and problem of the school's after-school service by interviewing with school administrators,teachers,and parents.Then,the study conducts a field survey at L Elementary School,analyzes the problems based on the investigates,and proposes some solutions.Finally,according to the question of carrying out technological activities in after-school service,this study designs two STEM education activity projects to enrich the technology content of after-school service.After research,the following conclusions are drawn in this paper:(1)In District C of Jinan,parents need and support the development of after-school service,but they have some misperceptions about it.Schools actively provide after-school service.But they have misaligned after-school service positioning,set single content,lack of richness of teachers,and do not establish long-term guarantee mechanisms.(2)This study analyses the existing problems and proposes targeted solutions.Firstly,schools need to change their concept of after-school service and pay attention to its educational development function.Secondly,schools need to set diversified curriculum content based on their own characteristics to meet the needs of parents and students.Simultaneously,the author designs and implements two STEM education activities to enrich the technology content of after-school service.In addition,schools need to raise funds from multiple sources and enrich the school's teaching staff to improve the quality of after-school service.Finally,schools need to establish a long-term guarantee mechanism that ensures the smooth development of after-school service.
