At present, humans have entered the era of big data, and a large number of figures, charts, and information are flooding people's lives. How to obtain effective information from complex data and make effective decisions, the cultivation of data analysis ability is very important. The cultivation of data analysis ability emphasizes that students need to experience the whole process of data collection, collation, description and inference, and project learning is highly compatible with the cultivation of data analysis ability. This study is mainly explained from the following four chapters:The first chapter is an overview of basic theory. This chapter is mainly to define the data analysis capabilities and related theories of project-based learning. On the relevant theory of data analysis ability, whether there is a concept or ability in data analysis is controversial.Based on the explanation of etymology, this study believes that data analysis is a kind of ability, and conceptually defines the data analysis ability and composition of primary school students. On the theory of project-based learning,it mainly expounds the basic theories of project-based learning such as the concept, characteristics and design steps. The above basic concepts provide a theoretical basis for this study. The second chapter points to the project-based learning design basis for the cultivation of data analysis ability of primary school students. Before designing any learning activity,we must consider its influencing factors, and project-based learning design that points to the cultivation of data analysis ability of primary school students is no exception. This chapter believes that teachers should mainly consider the following three factors in the design of project-based learning activities aimed at the cultivation of data analysis ability of primary school students:First, the development level of primary school students' data analysis ability;Second, the correlation between the curriculum and the "statistics and probability" section in the textbook Requirements and content;Third, the advantages of project-based learning in data analysis ability training. The third chapter points to the case study of project-based learning design for the cultivation of primary school students' data analysis ability. The first two chapters have explainedthat project-based learning is an important way to develop data analysis capabilities,so how to design project-based learning for primary school students' data analysis capabilities? To this end, this chapter selects two cases of "Environmental Water Delivery" for the fifth grade and "Making Calendar" for the third grade, and analyzes from the five steps of project-based learning design and the four dimensions of data analysis ability training.Because of its existing problems and the flash points of its design,it will pave the way for the suggestions below.Chapter 4 points to project-based learning design suggestions for the cultivation of data analysis ability of primary school students.Combining the problems in the above two cases and the highlights of their design, supplemented by the case designed by the author, the following five points are recommended for the project-based learning design directed to the cultivation of the data analysis ability of primary school students: First, the topic of multi-dimensional thinking projects,Experience the significance of data analysis;second, focus on the dimension of data analysis capabilities, design open and challenging driving issues;third,long-term work assisted project activity design, experience the entire process of data analysis;fourth, focus on public project results and reflect on the data analysis process; The fifth is to use multiple evaluation methods to judge the ability of data analysis.
