Immersive teaching is one of the three major foreign language teaching methods in the United States,and it is also the most popular foreign language teaching mode in the United States.Immersive teaching is considered as the most effective second language teaching method.In the past ten years,the Chinese immersion program in the United States has developed rapidly.At present,the number of Chinese immersive students in American is second only to the number of Spanish immersive students.Among them,the immersion program students in Utah account for half of the immersion Chinese program in American.At present,there are many researches on Canadian immersion teaching and immersive Spanish and French,but less research on immersive Chinese teaching.Among them,there are few case studies on Chinese teaching in immersive elementary school.Based on the 10-month internship practice conducted at Syracuse Elementary School in Utah,I selected real classroom cases for analysis.This article first states the teaching situation of Syracuse Elementary School,which mainly includes statements of students,teachers,curriculum,teaching methods,teaching environment,teaching material,teaching evaluation,etc,and uses this as background information for the case,Conduct case studies.The analysis of textbooks is mainly carried out by designing a questionnaire with teachers as the main body of evaluation,and then conducting teacher interviews on the problems in the survey to find the reasons and make suggestions.This article's case mainly involves the immersive elementary school Chinese project setting,teaching activities,classroom management.Finally,through case analysis,the conclusion is duck-filled education is not suitable for Chinese teaching in immersive primary schools in the United States.Teachers must change their teaching thinking and adopt a student-centered education concept.Children's learning characteristics and the rules of teaching Chinese as a foreign language are used to design teaching activities.Immersion teaching projects should change the design of inconsistent language in teaching and examination,and it is important to strengthen the training and training of Chinese teachers in immersion primary schools.The fourth chapter of this article also addresses the problems in the case,and gives feasible suggestions from the perspective of project setting,teaching design,classroom management,teacher selection and training,and textbook compilation andselection in immersive elementary school Chinese teaching.Hope this research can contribute to the development of Chinese teaching in elementary schools and be able to provide practical advice to new teachers.
