As one of the ten core concepts,the concept of data analysis is the focus of mathematics curriculum reform in the stage of compulsory education in recent years.Establishing the correct concept of data analysis is the requirements of era development and social progress.In this modern society where data and computers are flourishing,a large number of information,data and random phenomena are produced every day,which require people to make reasonable decisions through data analysis.Therefore,the learning Statistics and Probability has become the historical necessity.In future,it will also become the core of the world.Effective classroom teaching is based on the understanding of academic situation.Therefore,this study aims to research three questions: What is the current situation of data analysis concept of students in grade nine? What are the teaching factors that influence the development of data analysis concept of students in grade nine? How to develop the data analysis concept of of students in grade nine?By combing the literature related to the concept of data analysis,the author clarifies the connotation of the concept of data analysis,determines the evaluation framework of the concept of data analysis,and takes the three levels of the concept of data analysis as the theoretical basis of the research.The researcher also explore these three questions through the combination of literature research and investigation research.In this research,250 ninth grade students of Tianshui YF Middle School were selected as research subjects.The author uses the test method to understand the current situation of ninth grade students' data analysis concept.In addition,the collected data are analyzed from three dimensions:data awareness,data analysis method and data randomness.Then draw the following conclusions :(1)The ninth grade students have awareness of using data to solve problems,while they have little practice;(2)The ninth grade students cannot choose appropriate data analysis methods according to the problem situation(3)The ninth grade students cannot correctly distinguish the difference and the connection between frequency and probability;(4)The overall development level of data analysis concept of ninth grade students is low.The interview method was used to interview the ten selected teachers.Through the analysis of the interview results,the following teaching factors affecting the development of the data analysis concept of ninth grade students were determined :(1)Teacher ignored the randomness of the data;(2)Lack of practical activities in the teaching of Statistics and Probability;(3)The textbook arrangement is reasonable.However,the teacher cannot make full use of it;(4)Classroom activities are so limited that extracurricular practice is difficult to implement.Based on the investigation of the current situation of the data analysis concept of the ninth grade students and the analysis of the teaching factors that affecting the development of the data analysis concept,the following teaching strategies are proposed :(1)Establish the awareness of collecting data according to the research indicators;(2)Train students to use statistical charts and statistics flexibly;(3)Complete practical activities in the form of group cooperation;(4)Pay attention to the evaluation of the practice process;(5)Cultivate students' inductive thinking.
