Information competence consists of four basic components,namely,information consciousness,information knowledge,information skills and information morality.Information competence education,an educational practice for cultivating the information competence of our citizens and in essence an inevitable requirement of the information age,is enriched in its connotation and highlighted in its significance with the development of the times and the deepening of education reform.On the one hand,information competency education has to highlight the cultivation of information ethics and morality with special emphasis on the values;on the other,information competency education is supposed to penetrate into the teaching process of various disciplines so as to fully carry out "disciplinary information competency education".Students at junior high schools are the main targets of information competency education with which the teaching of the course of Morality and Law is related.Information competency education in relation to the course of Law is a request of the school talents by the rapid development of information technology,a new objective prescribed by the New Curriculum Standards,and also a new challenge for the teaching of the course of Morality and Law raised by the status quo of the information competency of the junior high school students.Specific Strategies for improving junior high school students' information competency offered by the teaching of Morality and Law include 1)the promoting strategy for the subjects of the information competency education;2)the optimizing strategy for the teaching of the course Morality and Law;and 3)the perfecting strategy for the system of information competency education.Of all these strategies,the promoting strategy for the subjects of the information competency education is composed of enhancing teachers' teaching ideologies,improving their teaching capabilities of information competency education,creating a satisfactory atmosphere for information competency education,and stimulating students' autonomy for information competency education.The optimizing strategy for the teaching of the course Morality and Law includes definite information competency education targets related to the course of Morality and Law,perfected teaching contents,strengthened penetration of information competency education,as well we innovate teaching models and rationally-devised classroom instructions.The perfecting strategy for the system of information competency education is comprised of the grasp of the general requirements of information literacy education assessment,highlighting the assessing criteria and promoting the diversification of information competency education assessment approaches and the subjects in the assessment.
