Activity theory originated from human's discussion on the sociality.diversity and contradiction of activities.Engstrom's third generation activity theory is devoted to the complete description of the structure of human activities,and focuses on the heterogeneity within the structure of activities,also develops the theory of interactive activity system.The interactive activity system is composed of two activity bodies that share objects and goals.The activity bodies all contain six basic elements:subject,object,tool,community,division of labor and rules.In the process of establishing the connection between the heterogeneous activity bodies with interactive relations,the contradictions in the activity system will be exposed.The ultimate goal of activity theory analysis method is to find and solve contradictions,so as to realize system optimization and upgrading.The contradiction analysis method in activity theory divides the contradiction into the internal element contradiction and the external interaction contradiction.both of which have the developmental relationship.Based on this theoretical framework,the author tries to build a linkage system model network of Chinese classroom activities in Auburn South Primary school in Australia,which is a student-centered practice activity system and a teacher-centered teaching activity system.By means of classroom observation,questionnaire survey and semi-structured interview,the author comprehensively investigated the dual system of classroom activities.trying to describe the overall picture of classroom activities from different dimensions and find out the primary and senior contradictions,then proposed targeted system optimization strategies.It is found that in the student-centered activity system,learners have a high degree of emotional acceptance of classroom activities and prefer competitive activities,but at the same time they are accompanied by mild language anxiety caused by fear of error.Main learners'behavior is driven by the triple gradual goal which composed with vocabulary,expression and theme goals.The activities include group activities,teacher-student activities and individual activities,using paper materials,physical teaching AIDS and multimedia resources.and rely on basic rules in the classroom,activities and evaluation rules to restrict learners so as to realize the transformation of subject to object.In the teacher-centered activity system.teachers give full play to their subjective initiative with the main motivation of satisfying students' emotional and cognitive needs.According to the outline of the education department of Victoria and the language learning requirements of IB schools,teachers share some object goals with students' activity system and lead the design and implementation of classroom activities.At the same time,relying on the interaction with the members of the teachers' cooperative community,the cooperative mode of resource sharing,joint management and mutual reflection can be realized.The research shows that the system runs smoothly.However,there are still contradictions in the interaction between teachers and students,the deviation in the use of tools.the negative motivation of teachers.and the hysteresis of textbooks and resources.At the same time,there exists the perception difference between the main body and the effect of different activities.This thesis has both theoretical and practical significance.Form the perspective of theoretical significance,this thesis attempts to deepen and refine the understanding of interaction system theory and contradiction analysis theory in activity theory,so as to provide relevant research paradigms for the application of activity theory in classroom activity research;in terms of the practical significance,this thesis shows the basic situation of Chinese classroom activities in Australian primary schools to a certain extent,which provides Chinese Language teaching in overseas primary school with the idea of activity design and some specific cases.
