With the continuous promotion of higher education teaching reform,the state has paid more attention to the construction of higher education curriculum.In 2019,the Ministry of Education issued the "opinions on deepening the reform of undergraduate education and teaching and improving the quality of talent training in an all-round way",proposing to comprehensively improve the quality of undergraduate course construction,optimize the proportion structure of public courses,professional basic courses and professional courses,improve the planning and system of course construction,and strive to create a "golden course" with high-level,innovative and challenging.At present,there are still many problems in the practice of general courses in provincial colleges and universities,which seriously affect the effectiveness of general courses in provincial colleges and universities.Therefore,it is of great significance to strengthen the research on the general courses of provincial colleges and universities,to perfect the curriculum system of provincial colleges and universities,to strengthen the construction of general courses,to improve the education and teaching level of general courses and the quality of personnel training in provincial colleges and universities.By using the methods of literature research,case study,text analysis,questionnaire survey and interview,this study starts with the definition of the general curriculum and other concepts,expounds the basis of the general curriculum in provincial colleges and universities,selects the typical general curriculum of C University as the research object,and through the text analysis of the talent training program and the general curriculum of C University Based on the investigation of the current situation of the general courses in other provincial colleges and universities,this paper comprehensively analyzes the problems and causes of the general courses in provincial colleges and universities,and finally puts forward the countermeasures to optimize the general courses in provincial colleges and universities.The general curriculum of provincial colleges and universities should be based on the theory of curriculum,the concept of general education,the relevant national policies on general curriculum and the characteristics of talent training of provincial colleges and universities.Based on the text analysis of the talent training program of C University and the investigation of the current situation of the general education curriculum,it is found that the general education curriculum of provincial universities can be set up in combination with the national policies and regulations,the talent training objectives of the University,the characteristics of different disciplines andspecialties,and be set up in sections with the professional education,which plays a better role in talent training,but also exists at the same time Teachers and students don't have a comprehensive understanding of the general courses,their satisfaction is low,and the effectiveness of the general courses is not strong.These phenomena are closely related to the problems existing in the current general courses in provincial colleges and universities,such as the curriculum objectives are not specific,the quality of the curriculum content is not high,the curriculum structure is not reasonable,and the curriculum evaluation system is not perfect.The main reason for these problems is the lack of the top of the general courses Layer design,teachers and students do not fully understand the concept of general education curriculum,general education teachers shortage,etc.Therefore,efforts should be made to optimize the general curriculum in provincial colleges and universities and improve the quality and level of general education from four aspects: building a three-dimensional general curriculum goal,selecting high-quality general curriculum content,establishing a balanced and coordinated curriculum structure,and improving the evaluation system of general curriculum.
