The Higher Education in Taiwan, is deeply permeated and disturbed by the political power and economic force in a long period, therefore, academic and education are separated day by day. The university as a uniform palace of knowledge is decomposed by the department at the "specialization" under the fine reputation, it makes the "tunnel efiFect" to be deeper and deeper, which is produced by the university students' personality fostering and world outlook molding in the university education, it also makes the successful researching teachers' willing to be quite low in participating the general education curriculum. Study Taiwan area universities' general education has vital and profound practical significance to its development and intensification.This paper selects the Taiwan Area Comprehensive Universities' General Education Curriculum to be the object, compositely utilizes History Methodology, Literature Methodology, Induction-deductive Methodology and so on, comprehensively and systematically introduces, analyzes, studies the arrangement and implementation of Taiwan Area Comprehensive Universities' General Education Curriculum.First, this paper elaborates the present situation of Taiwan Area Comprehensive University General Education Curriculum. The paper believes that it get a popular progress development from viewing at the curriculum structure, the curriculum content, the request of study, the teachers arrangement, but it still has some problems which are urgently awaited to be solved. Second, this paper elaborates three big characteristics of Taiwan Area Comprehensive University General Education Curriculum. First one, each main university established special agency---General Education Center. Second one, the Taiwan universities' unique General Education pattern. Third one, it makes the evaluation system. These characteristics have the vital significance in making Taiwan Area General Education to have a deep development.Once more, the paper points out the problems of the arrangement and implement in Taiwan Area Comprehensive University General Education Curriculum, and makes a deeply analysis. The paper believes that there are two main aspects in leading all sorts of problems. They are the influence of historical root and education system's construction. Based on this, the paper makes a clear forecast and comb for the tendency. Moreover it is functionary for the General Education's development.Finally, the paper analyzes that the mainland Comprehensive universities can get the source of reference and enlightenment from Taiwan Area Comprehensive University General Education Curriculum. The paper believes that the mainland synthesis universities can benefit from Taiwan area Comprehensive universities' mature experience when they construct their own characteristic system in General Education. It also points out the problems of the implementation. Attracts its essence, abandons its dregs, do something useful for mainland General Education.
