Academic misconduct acts as a complex problem has long existed in the scientific community.In recent years,with the continuous exposure of scientific misconduct cases by the mainstream media,academic misconduct has gradually come into public view,it has also aroused extensive attention and heated discussion.From a macro perspective point of view,Scientific misconduct is a social problem,nevertheless,from a view of micro perspective,this kind of behavior has been involved in the academic circle of ethics.This kind of damage to moral norms is embodied in wasting academic resources,damaging the image of the scientist who act as a truth-seeker,stifling the scientists to innovative ability,as well as corrupting social morality and so on.As a result,scientific misconduct requires a comprehensive and comprehensive analysis,in order to find out the reason,and put forward to corresponding countermeasures together with relevant suggestions,so that reaching the aim of purifying academic unhealthy practices.This article first elaborated the topic selection background,the significance and purpose.The following part introduces the general situation and development of the research on academic misconduct in domestic and overseas.Followed by the role of the scientist,analyzing the process of scientist's role formation and the conflict of scientist's role,emphasizingscientists as public figures,should not only to fulfill the responsibility of scientific research,but also fulfill the need of social responsibilities,which further emphases scientists should set up the social responsibility.This article analyzes the causes and influencing factors of scientists' misconducts from multiple dimensions,which includes social,economic,cultural,institutional and scientific reasons.Social reasons mainly refer to the impurity of the research environment,the high stratification of the scientific community and the influence of "acquaintance society" on academic misconduct;The economic reasons are mainly driven by economic interests and the low economic cost of academic misconduct;Cultural reasons include the prevalence of utilitarian culture,the rise of academic deviant subculture and the influence of traditional culture;Institutional reasons include that the scientific research evaluation system values "quantity" rather than "quality",evaluation criteria is not detailed enough,the irrationality of peer review and so on;The reason of scientists themselves are the lack of scientific spirit of scientists themselves,poor sense of responsibility and lack of awareness of academic misconduct.All of above reasons lead to the occurrence of scientists misconduct from different degrees.The author believes that the first thing to reduce the occurrence of misconduct is to create a good scientific research environment,strengthen the guidance of public opinion,increase mass media attention and coverage of scientists;Secondly,we should reform the academic system,establishing humanized grade evaluation system;The economic cost of academic misconduct should be raised again,severely punish those who violate the law and discipline;The most important thing is to strengthen the self-discipline consciousness of scientists,establishing a correct scientific view of utilitarianism.Adopt the combination of self-discipline and supervision of others to prevent and reduce the occurrence of misconduct,in order to make science progress better,benefit mankind in future.
