Existing studies have shown that the senior year of primary school is a key period for the differentiation of students' reading ability.It is also an important stage for cultivating and developing students' reading ability.Chinese reading helps students preview life and enhance their ability to cope with various difficulties in life.However,as a first-line primary school Chinese teacher,I found that the Chinese reading ability of senior students is worrying.It is of great importance to explore the various dimensions and development characteristics of the Chinese reading ability.And it is aslo very important to explore how to improve the reading ability of senior students in primary school.This study,taking a primary school in Huai'an as an example,through the literature method,questionnaire method,interview method,observation method,etc..Using the primary school Chinese reading ability questionnaire as research tool.The issuance of questionnaire star is adopted to improve the volume classification,collection and data analysis.To investigate the Chinese reading ability of senior students in primary school on the basis of the present situation.Descriptive statistical data such as mean value and standard difference were used to explore the development characteristics of various dimensions.On the basis of interviews and data coding with front-line teachers,we propose improving high school students' reading strategies and teaching case.In order to improve the quality of Chinese teaching in primary school,some practical suggestions are provided for the front-line teachers to improve the reading ability of primary school students.Conclusions of this study are as follows:1.The overall level of Chinese reading ability of students in a primary school in huai'an is ideal.Among the six dimensions of reading ability,the average value of recognition ability is the highest,while the average value of induction and generalization ability is the lowest.Among the six dimensions of reading ability,recognition ability,association ability and extraction ability are relatively good.Students' ability to read is strongest because as children grow older,they have mastered certain literacy methods.Students' ability of associative inference and extraction is relatively good,which has much to do with the development characteristics of students' body and mind.In the six dimensions,the relatively weak ability is the ability of understanding,evaluation and appreciation,induction and generalization.This also has a lot to do with the neglect of parents and the lack of reading teaching in schools.Students need systematic learning and cultivation of strategies for understanding,evaluating and summarizing texts.2.Students' reading ability can be improved from the following aspects:to increase financial input and promote exchanges and cooperation;to stimulate and maintain students'interest in reading;to master effective learning methods to improve students' autonomous learning ability;to enhance parents' mediating role in improving Chinese reading ability;to guide students to make good use of information technology to develop their reading ability.
