In order to promote fair access to higher education and broaden the way for rural students to enter key universities,the Chinese government has implemented preferential policies on college enrollment in recent years.This research aimed to understand those students' academic performance status and internal differences among "national special plan" and "special plan of colleges and universities" to enter the university.It also explored the influencing factors,so as to promote special program students' academic level,provide support guidance and advice,and promote special plan p to the realization of policy objectives and provide evidence support.According to the study theory and Competence Model,the theoretical framework of college students' academic performance was constructed.This study selects the academic data of 2014 undergraduate students of the case of A university.To begin with,the statistical analysis method was used to analyze the data of students' academic performance in the special program according three dimensions,i.e.academic performance,participation in innovative activities and extracurricular self-study,the main conclusions are as follows.First,the academic performance of students in the special program are below the students in the examination of college entrance,however,the improvement of the special students' performance is stronger.With the growth of the grade,the gap between the students in the special program and the unified enrollment is gradually narrowing.Second,the learning attitude of the students in the special plan is more serious,but their English level still has obvious shortcomings and their enthusiasm to participate in innovative activities is relatively low.Third,among the students of special program,the academic performance of colleges and universities special plan students is higher than that of national special plan students.The next,this study has interviewed 14 of 2014 undergraduate students from A university(including 12 special plan students and 2 graduate of common entrance examination),the collected interview data were processed and analyzed by the methods of open coding,correlation coding,axial coding and word frequency analysis based on the grounded theory.It was discovered that the academic performance of students in the special plan of college entrance examination was mainly affected by the factors of self-cognition regulation,professional interest,curriculum setting,interaction with teachers and peers.Finally,in view of the current situation and existing problems of the students' academic performance in the special program,corresponding suggestions were put forward for the universities,teachers and special program students in the study.
