In recent years, the central government has strongly advocated the construction of social work professionals, and social work has entered the stage of rapid development of specialization. There are 348 universities in China offering social work undergraduate programs, and about 40000 social work professionals are trained for the social work industry every year.Even so,the reality is that few social work graduates(hereinafter referred to as SWG)choose social work as their career choice.Existing studies have paid more attention to the reasons why SWG does not engage in the social work industry, and less attention has been paid to the professional matching rate of SWG and the lack of specific and in-depth discussion on "what is the professional matching unit for social workers".This paper, from the perspective of industry system, starting from the employment unit, explored the professional counterpart rate of SWG employment:on the one hand, secondary data using content analysis method, the rate of employment of professing,on the basis of a detailed operation, through the 2000-2015 Shanghai SWG 9 universities employment registration information content analysis, conclusion about the properties of the SWG employment unit counterpart coding system, and then discusses its employment professional matching rate level and the dynamic changes of calendar year.On the other hand, questionnaire survey was used to survey the social work graduates from 7 universities in Shanghai and ask them to judge the correlation between their positions and social work majors,so as to obtain the professional matching rate of SWG employment, and the results were used to evaluate the results of secondary analysis. The results showed that:(1)In general, the professional matching rate of SWG employment is 5.5%in strict sense, and 9.0%in broad sense. Moreover, over the years, the professional matching rate of SWG employment has fluctuated under the influence of national policies and social environment, but on the whole,it is relatively stable and remains at a low level.(2)School level, establishment time of major and source of students have a significant impact on the employment rate of SWG majors.(3)From the perspective of employment area, most students in SWG choose to work in the developed eastern region, while only a few students choose to work in the less developed regions such as the central and western regions and northeast regions. Moreover, the nature of SWG employment units is mostly party and government organs, enterprises and public institutions and other work fields unrelated to social work.Only 3.9%SWG choose to work in social work institutions.(4)The professional matching rate of social work graduates under higher vocational education is 22.8%,far higher than that of social work graduates(5.5%).In addition,19.5%of graduates with social work degree choose to work in social work institutions, which is much higher than that of graduates with social work degree(3.9%).The results are of great significance to the development of social work professionalization and specialization and social work education in China.Firstly, the government should guide social workers on the path of professionalization and specialization, introduce relevant laws and regulations as soon as possible, and practically establish and improve the social work career system and security system.Secondly, both undergraduate colleges and higher vocational colleges should pay attention to the vocational transformation of social work education, that is,to transform "professional social work education" into"professional social work service" by cultivating professional social work talents.
