School Social Work And Its Application In Employment Service To College Graduates

The unemployment pressure imposed on university graduates has continued to increase as a result of an expanding policy in the high education sector in China. Thus the conventional placement service to graduates cannot meet the demand. At the same time, professional social work gradually gets popular in the society, causing the development of application of social work in the college placement service to move forward. Studying the social work in regard to the universities employment instructions is of great importance to the development of professional social work in China and to solving the unemployment problems among college graduates.In this study, S university’s employment briefing work is taken as the research object of empirical investigations such as interviews, and the employment briefing center, teachers in university employment management positions, fresh graduates, psychological counselors, HR from diverse companies are the objects investigated, and all data are thoroughly analyzed from a critical theoretical perspective. As a result, the following findings are proposed:lack of the ability on contents system, teachers system, organizational structure system and assistance system in the professional guidance activities.By comparing the distinctions between current university employment service system and professional social work in the field of employment, theoretical basis, value orientation, working principle, and working process of social work, I found that, compared with the traditional universities employment instruction work, social work can be more micro, more focused on specific problems in the course of employment of the students, and will also attract more graduates to participate and respond, exhibiting their strengths. Accordingly, the researcher tried to find service objects in areas inaccessible by the school guidance work, and took it as a breakthrough, finding out roles that social workers can act as listeners, advocates, explorers, companions in university employment service centers, enhancing students’ employment capacity and carrying out the employment philosophy and achieving the new system of college student employment by employing the so called small politics strategy, or more particularly, through case work, group work, community work, social administration.
