The history textbook of middle school is consisted of the straight matter system and the auxiliary system.Whether the compliers or the teachers,they always focus on the straight matter system of history textbook as the core of the teaching material.For the text auxiliary system,which be seemed as less important.In auxiliary system of history textbook in junior middle school,the number of “relevant historical events” column is the largest,and it has its own unique characteristics,values,and functions,which are worth studying.The article takes the auxiliary column "relevant historical events" as the research object,and relies on the contents of the textbook to study the "relevant historical events" from four aspects.First,through the analysis of the “relevant historical events” column,it is found that its content types are diverse and have unique forms and characteristics.Second,combining the textbook content and analyzing “relevant historical events”,the column has some functions and values,for example,supplementing and expanding the content of the text,stimulating student's interest in learning and cultivating students' attitudes and values.Third,through questionnaires and interviews,the author investigates the current status of the use of the “Relevant Historical events” column.Based on the findings of this research,the author finds that the history teachers do not have a better understanding of this column,which resulted the students have not been properly guided by the teachers,at the same time,the column's history pictures are not enough in design.To solve the problems,the author proposes solutions and methods for the existing problems.On the one hand,teachers should pay attention to the “relevant historical events” column and students should be guided to use the “relevant historical events” column.On the other hand,the history pictures should be elected carefully and the “relevant historical events” could combine with exercise or materials after class.Fourth,summarize the function of “relevant historical events”,and imagine the use of “relevant historical events” in different parts of the teaching process according to their functions.It is hoped that by studying the “Relevant Historical events” column,it will enrich the research on the auxiliary system and specific columns,provide suggestions for the practical use of “relevant historical events” in teaching activities,and provide teaching for middle school history teachers and students.
