With the advancement of the curriculum reform,the teaching of Chinese reading has also been researched increasingly thoroughly,and meanwhile more and more emphases has been placed on "Close Reading".Therefore,it has become the responsibility and goal of every Chinese teacher to explore effective teaching methods and to organically combine teaching and research.Other problems like the advancement of the close reading and the implementation of it in the course of the teaching and research also occur in the wake of these changes.This thesis tries to explore effective methods of close reading and reading teaching model suitable for high school students on the theoretical basis of New Criticism.This thesis consists of the introduction,the main body and the conclusion.The introduction part mainly introduces the background,significance,status quo of the research and the methodology.It mainly clarifies the New Criticism Theory and the theoretical basis of the teaching method.Chapter one commences with the status quo of the teaching of high school Chinese,raises a question,and puts forward the solution of combining the New Criticism Theory and close reading in high school.Relevant concepts of the New Criticism Theory are introduced before assessing the guiding significance of the theory macroscopically.Chapter two,based on the literary genre,aims at discussing the maneuverability of the application of the New Criticism Theory by respectively integrating the teaching methods of poems,proses and novels in high school Chinese reading,applying the New Criticism Theory and listing abundant examples to demonstrate the application of the New Criticism Theory in teaching.Chapter three,returning to practice,puts its emphasis on the operation model of combining the New Criticism Theory and the teaching of reading.By making detailed analysis of some typical teaching cases and summarizing the main points and common mistakes of the application of the New Criticism Theory,the elements of the New Criticism Theory and other types of classes are combined while stressing the principles and approaches.Last,the conclusion part underlines and summarizes how to define the scope where the New Criticism Theory can be applied and the application mode of the New Criticism Theory.
