Nodding's Thought Of Character Education And Its Enlightenment On Ideological And Political Education

The concept of "cultivating people with morality" put forward at 18th CPC National Congress answers the question of what kind of people we need to cultivate in the new era.Ideological and political education,as a key course to realize the goal of "cultivating people with morality",should undoubtedly answer the question of how to cultivate people.The report of the 19th National Congress of CPC still continues this spirit,and puts forward that the cultivation of personal morality is one of the objectives of the construction of civil morality carried out by the state.Ideological and political education should be guided by the goal,draw lessons from Chinese and foreign educational theories scientifically,and constantly acquire new impetus for development.Nel Noddings,an educator,put forward a character education theory based on caring ethics.Although there are many differences between China and the United States in national conditions and other aspects,it does not prevent us from scientifically looking at and selectively learning Noddings' character education theory.Based on this,this paper mainly studies Noddings' character education thought and its enlightenment to ideological and political education from four parts:The first part expounds noddings' theory of caring ethics.This part is divided into three levels:the first level expounds the definition of the connotation and essence of care by Noddings;The second level discusses the emotional mechanism of care described by Noddings.The formation of a caring relationship requires the joint efforts of the caregiver and the cared for.In this process,the caregiver and the cared for will have different emotional development processes.The third level discusses the object of care.According to Noddings,care is self-centered and expands to a wider scope,thus forming a circle of care.In the process of expanding care,due to different motives,care can be divided into natural care and ethical care.The second part summarizes the specific character required by Noddings' caring ethics.Since Noddings always stressed the relational nature of care,the character he expounded was also the character of relational nature.This part discussed the five relational virtues that Noddings emphasized,namely sensitivity,moral judgment,sympathy,dedication and gratitude,from the perspective of relationship.The third part focuses on a series of methods that can be adopted by Noddings to cultivate these virtues.In his teaching career for many years,Noddings summarized a series of moral education methods,such as promoting the development of moral education by caring,attaching importance to the shaping of moral education situations,playing the role of role models,providing guarantee for continuous moral education,and carrying out moral education by correct application of practice.Some of the methods are the same as those used in ideological and political education in China,but their specific contents are different,so it is necessary to explore.The fourth part from through the objective evaluation of the remote moral education thought,summarizes its value and limitations,and combines the current situation of Ideological and political education in China,,explore its enlightenment to ideological and political education,including:pay attention to emotional factors in the ideological and political education,is concerned about the education theory,respecting students'differences,promoting the ideological and political education returning to life,the correct way to use dialogue and practice of ideological and political education,pay attention to the correct use of Ideological and Political Education.
