Research On The Application Of Noddings' Caring Theory To Moral Education In College

Noddings'caring theory was proposed in the mid-period of 1980s. It put forward the constructive assertion to the reformation of whole education realm around the topic"how to educate students to learn to care ". China's socialist market economy has deepened and the benefits leads gradually established, which make the moral education in college produced many problem resulting from the lack of humanity caring. Drawing lessons from the caring theory, therefore, has the great meaning to improve the reformation of the moral education in college.My paper proposed the origination from the background of America's society and school and the feminism movement and theoretic foundation of existentialism philosophy, humanism psychology and the ethics of caring, make commentaries on the contents system and the characteristic of this theory. The moral education produced many moral problem cause of the defect of caring. Most to the Colleges care technique more, care morals less, especially in the college of technology and science and the evaluation in colleges make this worse, which weekend the moral education in colleges. That is ignoring the collegian's life and the principal position, which finally result in the defect of caring character among collegians. This research mainly analyzes the caring theory and the present situation of the lack of caring in the moral education in colleges, then put forward the constructive speculation of improving the moral education in colleges: establishing the caring pattern on the moral lessons by bringing in the caring content and caring teaching method; improving teachers'caring quality on viewpoint, ability and the knowledge construction; guaranteeing the consistency of the practice of caring moral education through the responsibility of moral educator , closing collegian's life and the joint efforts four parts. The author attempts to do some research on improving the moral education in colleges through Noddings'caring theory in order to enrich the moral education theory and to influence positively the college moral education reformation.
