A Practice Research Of Social Work In Stimulating The Endogenous Motivation Of Poverty-stricken People

With the continuous progress of poverty-alleviation,this huge program of poverty eradication in China is drawing to a close.Many problems and phenomena have emerged and been gradually solved in the process of deepening and refining the poverty alleviation work.In recent years,the problem of the endogenous power of the poor has become increasingly prominent.The development ability of severely impoverished areas and the lack of endogenous poverty alleviation motivation of the poor always affect the progress of poverty alleviation in China.To a certain extent,these problems restrict the overall effect of poverty alleviation.Social work has taken advantage of its unique merits and nature to help the poor to realize their needs and improve their awareness of and ability to self-improvement.Consequently,social work,to a large degree,has eased the shortage of endogenous power among the poor and contributed a lot to poverty alleviation of China.This paper takes Y village in D County of Gansu Province as the practice and research object.Meanwhile,depending on the help of J social work agency in Y village,we enter into this village for field investigations and researches.Based on the overall understanding of the measures,difficulties and results of targeted poverty alleviation work in D County,this study analyzes and summarizes the causes and performances of the deficiency of the endogenous power of the poverty-stricken people in this area through in-depth knowledge of the poverty alleviation situation in Y village,as well as some interviews with social workers,township cadres and poor individuals.This research takes the action strategy and intervention situation of social work institutions in Y village as the cornerstone.And after understanding the main requirements of the poor,this paper regards these people as the service object of social work,aiming at stimulating the endogenous motivation of impoverished people.Meanwhile,making full use of the professional advantages of social work to carry out targeted service activities as well as summarizing and evaluating the service process and results.The purpose of carrying out social work service activities is to help impoverished individuals to recognize themselves again,enhance their awareness and confidence concerning poverty alleviation through exploiting their potential.Furthermore,we regard the enhancement of the action ability of the poor as the practical support for effective poverty alleviation,so as to achieve the purpose of stimulating and improving the endogenous motivation of the poor to break away from poverty.
