Since the new century,the trend of globalization has become more and more intense,the speed of talent competition has accelerated,and the world's higher education has undergone profound changes.As the main force and important participant in the internationalization of higher education,university teachers play an important role in the cultivation of international talents and the governance of global education.Canada is a pluralistic immigrant country.After years of development,its higher education has gradually become one of the benchmarks of the internationalization of higher education in the world,in which the international participation of university teachers plays an important role.Due to the short history of the internationalization of university teachers in China,there is still a certain gap between China and developed countries in the concept,approach,curriculum participation and guarantee mechanism of the internationalization of teachers.China can draw relevant theoretical and practical experience from the development history and reality of Canadian university teachers'internationalization ability,and draw lessons from it on the basis of localization,so as to provide certain theoretical guidance and decision-making consultation for university internationalization construction.This study is based on literature analysis,supplemented by comparative research and case analysis,to explore the history and reality,theory and practice of Canadian teachers' international capacity building.According to the research ideas,the paper can be divided into five parts,namely,the theoretical basis of the internationalization of university teachers in Canada,the development process and practical needs of the internationalization of university teachers in Canada,the current situation and basic characteristics of the internationalization of university teachers in Canada,the case study of the internationalization of university teachers in British Columbia in Canada and the internationalization of university teachers in China Inspiration of competence building.In the first chapter,three theoretical foundations of the internationalization of university teachers in Canada are expounded,namely,the theory of teacher professional development,the theory of multiculturalism and the theory of Situational Cognition.According to different historical characteristics,the second chapter divides the internationalization of Canadian university teachers into four stages:the embryonic stage of paying attention to fairness,the initial stage of development of turning to international understanding,the accelerated stage of government intervention and the stage of in-depth development of actively seeking internationalization for teachers.The pace of globalization of the world economy and the internationalization of higher education put forward the requirements for the internationalization of Canadian university teachers,which accelerated the pace of the internationalization of Canadian university teachers.The third chapter turns the perspective to the actual development,and demonstrates that the concept of teachers' international capacity-building can be divided into the internationalization of scientific research,teaching and social services.The practice of the internationalization construction of university teachers in Canada is reflected in the corresponding policy support,the establishment of training project institutions,the establishment of multiple teaching staff,the implementation of a wide range of international courses and the development of international partnerships.At the same time,it also forms the characteristics of government and institutions,federal and provincial linkage.British Columbia University is an outstanding university in Canada,which has formed a strong international atmosphere and made great achievements in active international partnership,setting up research funding and other aspects.The last chapter,combined with the problems encountered in the process of internationalization capacity-building of university teachers in China and the relevant experience of Canada,can provide reference for China in terms of internationalization concept,channels and other aspects.
