Objective:To investigate the Heath-Carter somatotype characteristics and the correlation between somatotype and blood pressure in middle and elderly people with normal blood pressure and hypertension in dong of hunan province,to find out the risk factors and protective factors of blood pressure among somatotype factors,and to find out the healthy somatotype of the middle and elderly people with normal blood pressure in dong of hunan province.Method:The Heath-Carter anthropometric somatotyping method was used to study the somatotype of 883(male 365,female 518)in the middle and elderly people with normal blood pressure and hypertension of Dong in Hunan,including height,weight,maximum biceps circumference,calf circumference,triceps skinfold,subscapular skinfold,suprailiac skinfold,calf skinfold,biepicondylar breadth of humerus,biepicondylar breadth of femur and blood pressure.The Heath-Carter method was used to evaluate the somatotype of the middle and with normal blood pressure and hypertension.Result:1.The mean somatotypes of men in the normal blood pressure group and the hypertension group were endomorphic mesomorph category(4.55-4.99-1.86)and endomorph mesomorph category(5.22-5.63-1.09),while that of females were all mesomorphic endomorph category(6.06-4.82-1.31 and 6.62-5.32-0.83).2.The internal factors of the male in the normal blood pressure group were lower than those of the female,and the middle and outer factors were higher than those of the female,except for the middle factors,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01),the internal factor of male in the hypertension group was lower than that of female,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01),the difference of middle factor and outer factor was not significant.Among the factors in the male hypertension group,the internal and middle factor was higher than that in the normal blood pressure group,while the external factors were lower than that in the normal blood pressure group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01),while the internal and middle factor was higher than that of the normal group,while the external factors were lower than that of the normal group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01);Compared to the same blood pressure group of male and female somatotype and same sex hypertension group compared with normal blood pressure group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01)3.Male of normal blood pressure and hypertension is the most common three types are endomorphic mesomorph category,mesomorphic endomorph category,endomorph mesomorphcategory,thescoreis 38.30%,20.74%,15.96%and40.68%,23.16%,28.25%;Thefemale two most common types were mesomorphic endomorph category,endomorph mesomorph category,which accounted for 69.19%,14.53%and76.44%,17.24%.4.Both the systolic and diastolic blood pressures of male and female were positively correlated with the internal and middle factor and negatively correlated with the external factor.Logistic regression analysis showed that the internal factor was the main risk factor for hypertension in middle and elderly male and female of Dong in Hunan,while the external factor was the protective factor.Conclusion:The mean somatotypes of male in the normal blood pressure group and the hypertension group were endomorphic mesomorph category and endomorph mesomorph category,while that of females were all mesomorphic endomorph category.There are gender differences in somatotype,with strong skeletal muscle in males,high fat content in females and poor body linearity.There were also differences in somatotype between the hypertension group and the normal blood pressure group.There is a correlation between somatotype and blood pressure,the somatotype with high endoderm and low ectoderm tendency is the unhealthy somatotype of middle and elderly people with hypertension,and the line type somatotype with high ectoderm tendency is not easy to get hypertension.
