The construction of "double first-class" can improve the level of education and enhance the country's core competitiveness under the new situation."Double firstclass" universities are considered as the leader of disciplines construction. And scientific collaboration can improve the research level of individuals, institutions and countries. Therefore, this research compares the commonalities and differences of the collaboration between different " double first-class " universities in the same field, and puts forward more specific reflections and suggestions, which is helpful to promote the construction of " double first-class " in China. This paper selects "chemistry" and "computer science and technology" as two representative first-class disciplines.Based on the results of the fourth round of subject evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education,we selected representative firstclass universities from three different levels(A+/B+/C+)as our research object. All the papers of the corresponding disciplines included in the core collection database of Web of Science from 2008 to 2018 is downloaded as data sets.Through bibliometric method, around the theme of "collaboration ",this paper compares relevant indicators, such as the output profile, citation impact, and internationalization degree of collaborative papers. The results show that the comprehensive performance of Peking University and Tsinghua University is the best, whose evaluation results is A+ in the each field, and other universities have their own advantages and disadvantages. In order to better analyze the collaborative network, this paper uses the social network analysis method to visualize the overall structure of the collaborative network, discuss important nodes in conjunction with corresponding indicators and find the institutions with high international and domestic collaborative status. Then,we use small group analysis to dig out core collaborative groups of the above universities.Based on this,an index for measuring the overall scientific research performance of the collaborative group is proposed. This paper uses the evaluation index which combines the two dimensions of the institution itself and the partner,to conduct an empirical analysis. The results show that the overall level of scientific performance of the core cooperative groups of universities is basically matched with the level obtained from the subject evaluation of the Ministry of Education. And the core scientific research groups of Peking University and Tsinghua University perform best overall. In addition, combined with quantitative methods,it can be objectively concluded that Harbin Institute of Technology and Dalian University of Technology have higher self-contribution rates in collaboration with core groups, but there are certain disadvantages in the scientific performance of core partners. Finally, through frequency statistics and co-occurrence analysis of keywords,a comparative analysis of the themes of collaborative research among universities was conducted. The results shows that the clustering and research hotspots of research themes across universities have both crossover and characteristics. This paper draws corresponding conclusions based on exploring the cooperation status of "double firstclass" universities of different levels. Then,it puts forward corresponding policy suggestions for each university based on conclusions, which can be used as a reference for the mutual reference of experience in the development of universities.
