Li jigu(1895-1968)is a Chinese modern historian and history educator.He was born poor,but his hunger for knowledge was constant.The experience of studying abroad all the time has laid a solid foundation for him to learn history,and he has also accumulated some experience in history education by serving as a principal in a middle school and a teacher in a university.To death at the time of the social reality,Li Jigu believes that history education can raise the national consciousness of struggle and provoke home and the feelings of teenagers,so had he been ceaseless,not only to write a series of history books,also continuous written for teenagers to learn a foreign history of junior high school,the history of foreign high school history textbooks,such as for the history education in China has injected fresh blood.The foreign history of high school compiled by li jigu in1931 is an influential textbook in the Republic of China.It is compiled under the following background and basic conditions:first,the spread of western historiography and pedagogy in China.On the one hand,the "new history" advocated by Robinson and the "pragmatism" thought of Dewey have been widely spread in the history and education circles of our country,which has had an impact on the content selection of "foreign history of high school".Second,there has been a boom in the study of foreign history in China.This upsurge affected the field of education,and the compilation of foreign history textbooks became more and more urgent.Third,the national government strengthened the management of education.The provisional curriculum standards for foreign history of general subjects in senior middle schools promulgated in 1929 provided necessary standards for the compilation of foreign history of senior high schools.Li jigu's "foreign history of high school" adopts the style of chapter and chapter.According to the form of general history,it starts from the origin of the earth in ancient narration of the cultural history and the history of science and technology.In addition,this book only narrates the historical facts of the world without corresponding exercises,which is obviously unfavorable to the learning of middle school students.As for the features and defects of this textbook,we should continue to carry forward and continue its features in the compilation of subsequent textbooks,and try our best to avoid its defects.For example,when compiling textbooks,we should make full use of the huge talent pool and attract more peoplerelated to history teaching to join the textbook compilation team.At the same time,textbook writers should be keen to capture the connection between history and reality,so that history can more reflect the reality and reflect people's
