In order to meet the challenges of new era,educational reform in China deepens unceasingly.As an important part of middle school education,history education undertakes an important mission to improve national literacy and the reform of history curriculum deepens continuously at the same time.Middle school history textbook is the important medium of history teaching.The use of textbooks can directly affect teaching effectiveness.The researches on textbooks compilation has a long history.Among them,whether using textbooks compiled with Chinese history and foreign history or not is one of research hotspots.It is another exploration in new era on how to understand and improve the textbooks,so that they will be made to serve curriculum reform and history teaching.Combining Chinese history with foreign history is the crucial way for compiling history textbooks.Experienced the exploration in Republic Period,the development of curriculum reform in Shanghai and the innovation of new curriculum reform,compilation of Chinese and foreign history textbooks has gradually become mature.History textbooks in period of Republic of China are the earliest history textbooks combining Chinese history with foreign history in our country.The textbook in the period of curriculum reform in Shanghai is characterized by distinctive features,while the textbooks in the period of new curriculum reform deliver the latest concepts.Under the background of history,through analysis of the structure along with content features of the textbooks combining Chinese history with foreign history in modern times,it can be revealed,the style of history textbooks present two major trends: firstly,the textbooks function has changed,and secondly concepts for compiling textbooks has enriched.Throughout the context of development advantages as well as disadvantages have been highlighted.In regard to these problems,it can be solved by taking some measures,such as changing the compilation concepts of textbooks;strengthening the course construction;using auxiliary resources etc.Thereby the compilation quality of textbooks can be improved,meanwhile history teaching can be better served.
