Self-made teaching aids are designed and made by teachers and students themselves using the resources around them.Using self-made teaching aids in middle school biology courses would improve teachers' professional ability,activate the classroom atmosphere,promote teachers' teaching efficiency,make knowledge easy to understand,and make students participate in biology learning more actively.Teaching aids made by teachers and students themselves can promote the professional development of teachers and exercise students' practical operation ability and logical thinking ability.Self-made teaching aids play an important role in biology teaching in middle schools,therefore,it is of great research significance to understand the application status of self-made teaching aids in middle school biology teaching,find out the problems in teaching application and their causes,and put forward the specific suggestions.In this paper,the concept and characteristics of teaching aids and self-made teaching aids are discussed by means of literature research,On this basis,a questionnaire survey was conducted to randomly select schools in Chongqing,with 2400 students and 150 teachers as the respondents,understand the application status of biological self-made teaching aids in middle schools,teachers and students' understanding and attitude towards self-made teaching aids.Finally,the classroom cases in middle schools with self-made teaching aids are selected for analysis and sorting.Status quo survey results show:1,At the school level: most schools have a lack of policies and attitudes towards self-made teaching aids.Many schools do not require teachers to make teaching aids,and there is little training and competition.Moreover,the school's performance evaluation basically does not include homemade teaching aids.2,At the teacher level:(1)most of the teachers do not know much about the self-made teaching aids,and only a small part of them do.The high school biology teachers mostly learn from other teachers,and the middle school biology teachers mostly learn from books and the Internet.Most teachers think it is necessary to make homemade teaching aids in their teaching section.Most junior high school biology teachers are for the reason of knowledge abstraction and improving students' interest in biology,while most senior high school teachers are for the reason of knowledge abstraction and active classroom atmosphere.(2)Most teachers believe that the use of self-made teaching in the classroom has a positive effect.Most teachers have made their own teaching aids,but most teachers still have some difficulties in making teaching aids.They hope schools can provide relevant training.(3)About half of the teachers asked their students to make teaching aids.3,At the student level:(1)At the present stage,biology courses in middle schools mostly adopt the form of combining teaching and multimedia.Compared with middle schools,the number of high schools that have never used homemade teaching aids is less.(2)Students believe that teachers' use of homemade teaching aids in class has many positive effects.(3)Students like and expect teachers to use homemade teaching aids in class.Middle school students like them mostly because they can enliven the classroom atmosphere,while high school students like them because they can make abstract knowledge easy to understand.Middle school students pay more attention to the real image of teaching aids and high technology content,high school students pay more attention to the real image of teaching aids and interesting.(4)Most students don't know about homemade teaching aids,and a small number of students who have not made homemade teaching aids are mostly made because of teachers' requirements or their own interests.Compared with high schools,the number of middle school students who make homemade teaching aids due to their own interests is higher.(5)Students think that making teaching aids by themselves is helpful to improve their understanding of knowledge and hands-on ability,and they are willing to make homemade teaching aids.For junior middle school students,the biggest difficulty is the lack of time and teacher guidance,while for senior high school students,the lack of time and academic pressure.Based on the results of the questionnaire and the problems in the application of self-made teaching aids,the following suggestions are put forward: 1)Education administration level: The education administration department carries out relevant training;Relevant exhibitions will be held at the education technology and equipment center;Carry out self-made teaching aids related competitions.2)School level: Develop school-based courses;Appropriate funding is provided for teachers to produce teaching aids.3)Teachers' level: Enhance the understanding of self-made teaching aids,and actively use self-made teaching aids for teaching;Actively participate in the game,exercise their ability;Teach students about homemade teaching aids and encourage them to make teaching aids;Evaluate the teaching aids made by students and make Suggestions.4)Students' level : Take the initiative to improve your knowledge of teaching aids;Take the initiative to make teaching aids to help you understand.Finally,it is hoped that this study can stimulate the enthusiasm of teachers and students to make teaching aids,so that homemade teaching aids can be more widely implemented in teaching.
