In the era of big data,can modern and expressive multimedia teaching aids replace traditional teaching aids? The answer is no.Under the new curriculum reform,there is a requirement about training students' abilities should focus on not only literacy abilities,but also practical ability.In the geography teaching area,the geography teaching aids have the characteristics of individual design,participation and operation.It can be seen that the geography teaching aids could train the students geographic practical abilities.According to the situation,the research of geography teaching aids becomes the focus and path to meet the requirement of the new curriculum reform.Under the circumstances,This research analyses the strategies for optimizing the design and manufacture of geography self-made teaching aids from both theoretical and practical aspects.In addition,the research combines middle school geography teaching cases with empirical evidences to introduce the geography self-made teaching aids from the three directions which are the need,the operation strategy and the teaching demand.This research includes four parts,as follows:The first part includes the meaning that is the optimization of geography self-made teaching aids.As there is a disadvantage of modern teaching which only mobilizes students' audio-visual senses.Therefore,the research aims to explore the geography self-made teaching aids to mobilize students' multi-sensory perception based on a variety of theories and methods which include the " cone of experience " theory,the theory of gestalt psychology,the "learning by doing" theory,the constructivist learning theory and the "intuitive" teaching method.In the second part,firstly,according to the existing geographical teaching aids development situation then summarizing the basic principles of the optimization of the existing geographical teaching aids: the necessity principle,the economic principle,the scientific principle,the intuitive principle and the promotion principle.Secondly,pointing out general the design method of the geographical teaching aids: the substitution method,the imitation method,the optimization method,the simulation method and the combination method.Thirdly,claiming that teaching should consider both the course standard and students' learning situation.Teachers carry out the operation procedure of design and optimize need to select the boring,difficult and abstract geography content as the subject;base on the basic principle;adopt the general method.The third part introduces the optimization and application of self-made teaching aids in junior middle school geography.According to the teaching demand of the first volume of the seventh-grade build nine groups of teaching aids and learning aids,which are scientific,intuitive,interactive and applicable,are applied to the teaching practice with the optimization strategy of design.listing three examples of doing teaching aids during classes,two cases of using teaching aids in class,and one experiment improvement of geography.The fourth part analyses the impact of the application of self-made teaching aids in middle school geography.The research selects the educational experiment method to compare two classes taught by the author.The results show that it is feasible for students to make teaching aids in class.Self-made teaching aids bring great positive influence for students,teachers and classroom culture.Finally,pointing out some the teaching effective countermeasures which include changing the subject of making teaching aids,strengthening the teaching environment,controlling the class time,focusing on and encouraging students who have poor academic performance and expanding the applicating range of teaching aids etc.
