With the coming of information and knowledge-driven society,"what quality should be cultivated by education" has become the primary question that many countries confront in the process of education reform and development.In order to adapt to the trend of education reform and improve the international competitiveness,the Ministry of education of China has formulated the core literacy system for the development of students in different grades,which provides a clear direction for solving the fundamental problem of "who to train,how to train and for whom to train".Therefore,in the context of core literacy,how to cultivate students' mathematical core literacy is extremely important.In recent years,conic curve as a knowledge point frequently appears in the test paper of college entrance examination,which has become one of the hot topics.Conic is the core content of plane analytic geometry.It relates algebra and geometry,and can fully test the ability of students to skillfully use mathematical ideas such as logarithm combination,function and equation,classification and integration.At the same time,it demands students' mathematical core literacy such as mathematical abstraction,logical reasoning,mathematical modeling,mathematical operation,etc.The author uses literature research,observation,questionnaire and other methods to study the teaching of conic based on the core quality of mathematics.The first part of the article is the introduction,which introduces the background,purpose,significance,content and method of the research.The second part summarizes the literature related to "the core accomplishment of mathematics" and "the teaching of conic".The third part introduces the research related "problem-based teaching theory","constructivism teaching theory" and "developmental teaching theory".The fourth part investigates the present situation of conic teaching in three middle schools in Hainan Province by means of questionnaire and classroom observation,and finds out the following problems: the students are not active and interested in conic learning;the foundation is not solid and the nature of conic definition is not well understood;the mathematical thought and method are not well mastered and the mathematical thinking ability is not strong;the mathematical reading ability is weak;the ability to comprehensively use knowledge and solve practical problems is not strong;the core literacy of mathematics is not strong.The teaching goal of teachers is not clear and there is deviation in the way of evaluation.In the fifth part,according to the problems existing in teaching,the corresponding teaching strategies of new courses and review courses are put forward based on the core quality of Mathematics: setting up teaching objectives to highlight the core quality ofmathematics in the new courses;creating reasonable problem situations to stimulate students' interest in learning;paying attention to concept teaching and deeply understanding the definition;combining reading with thinking to deeply explore the nature of problems.In the review class,we should strengthen the training of variation and expansion,cultivate students' innovative consciousness;draw the flow chart of solution,cultivate students' ability to analyze and solve problems;classify classic examples,guide students to summarize the methods of solution;change the single review class mode,and innovate the teaching method of review class.In the sixth part,the teaching strategy is adopted to design the new teaching of Hyperbola and Its Standard Equation and the review teaching of Parabola and Its Standard Equation.To sum up,this study aims to improve the core quality of students' mathematics subject,aiming at the teaching of conic curve,so as to improve the effectiveness of teaching.
