With the development of scientific technology and the progress of time,this era witnesses a rapid update of reserved knowledge.There are some deficiencies in Chinese teaching of senior high school in broadening students' reading range and reading quantity.Although years of accumulation may equip high school students with quite a bit of knowledge and reading skills,influenced by traditional reading methods and teaching ideas,high school students' knowledge structures turn out to be fragment.Therefore,it is still an urgent task for Chinese teachers in high school to improve effectively students' reading capacity and fast reading ability.In the continuous exploration of teaching reading,reading a whole book is considered to be one of the effective ways to improve students' reading capacity and efficiency.Chinese Curriculum Standard for Ordinary Senior High Schools(2017 Edition)takes advantage of the current situation and puts forward for the first time the learning task group: “reading and discussing for the whole book” and include this into Chinese curriculum.Reading the whole book,on the one hand,enable high school students to immerse themselves in reading consistently in a systematic way,which help to exercise their perseverance for reading and improve their reading ability;On the other hand,students can acquire a large amount of cultural and literary knowledge,accumulate rich language expressions and writing materials while carrying out an overall reading of a book,thus improving their writing ability.Under the current circumstance where promoting traditional Chinese culture is the heated rage,teaching students to read classics has become an important part of Chinese teaching in high school.Reading A Dream of Red Mansions is demanded for senior high school students according to the Chinese curriculum.Its superb language art and writing skills can effectively improve students' core Chinese literacy;Its delicate depiction of adolescents' life can promote the physical and mental discretion of high school students;Its abundant cultural phenomenon can enable students to understand the excellent traditional Chinese culture and improve their cultural confidence.However,the whole book reading teaching lacks corresponding theoretical support and examples and need to be further expanded and extended.Based on the concept of the new curriculum standard and the core subject accomplishment,referring to the learning objectives,the contents and teaching tips of the “whole book reading and discussion” learning task group,taking A Dream of Red Mansions as the teaching object,this dissertation to carries out the whole book reading teaching research.The dissertation consists of five parts.The first part is to explain the research origin,research significance,research summary,research methods and important and difficult points of this paper.The second part summarizes the development process and characteristics of the whole book reading teaching,as well as the relevance of A Dream of Red Mansions and the whole book reading teaching.The third part works out the teaching design of reading the whole book of A Dream of Red Mansions from the aspects of teaching objectives and strategy construction,teaching preparation and teaching planning,teaching methods and teaching evaluation.The last part reflects on the teaching process of reading the whole book of A Dream of Red Mansions and concludes suggestions for the teaching reading the whole book.Through summarizing the existing teaching designs of the whole book reading,this dissertation puts forward the teaching conception of the whole book reading of A Dream of Red Mansions and aims to produce some referential value for the teaching design of A Dream of Red Mansions and other whole books.
