In traditional Chinese culture,ancient poetry enjoys a unique and lofty position and constitutes an important part of modern Chinese teaching.Traditional ancient poetry carries a large number of images,which either convey the author's hazy emotion,or serve as the clue connecting a story,or integrate feeling and scenery.In the process of teaching,only adoption of proper image teaching method and correct interpretation of image connotation can render a deep understanding of the emotion and connotation of Chinese ancient poetry.Based on the core content of image teaching,the paper adopts the methods of literature analysis,questionnaire survey,and example analysis and takes Yan'an Shi Shi Yan Middle School as an example.The paper aims to study the current situation of image teaching of Chinese ancient poetry in books compiled by Ministry of Education in junior high school and analyze the main problems in image teaching of Chinese ancient poetry,and propose some teaching strategies for the problems,so as to shed light on the image teaching of Chinese ancient poetry.This paper consists of five parts and proceeds as follows.The introduction part mainly explains the reason,object,significance,current situation and study methods,including the interpretation of image and related concepts.The first part summarizes and analyzes the images of ancient poetry selected in textbooks compiled by Ministry of Education in junior high school.The second part elaborates the teaching objectives of ancient poetry image from the aspects of course nature,learning phase objectives and subject quality,and explains the significance of image interpretation in Chinese ancient poetry teaching from the aspects of culture,aesthetics,spirit and emotional value.The third part conducts a questionnaire survey on teachers and students of Yan'an Shi Shi Yan Middle School themed by the topic and analyzes the main problems and causes ofimage teaching of Chinese ancient poetry in junior high school from the perspective of educators and learners.The fourth part puts forward corresponding teaching strategies from the perspective of teaching and learning.
