Since 2017,the number of China's labor force has fallen for two consecutive years, and problems such as labor shortages may become constraints to our future economic development. The continued decline in fertility and the declining population are important factors leading to labor shortages.Failure to pay attention to them will lead to a triple crisis of economic development, society and national defense. The number of births in 2018 dropped to 15.23 million,a significant drop of 2 million compared to2017,a new low since 1949,except for the difficult times of 1960-1961.The birth rate in 2018 dropped to 10.94 ‰,the lowest since 1949.After the implementation of the“ Comprehensive Two-Child ” policy in 2016,the birth population rose to 17.86 million in 2016,and then continued to decline for two years, and the policy effect began to fade. There are many factors that affect the fertility desire.Among them, the income factor is one of the important factors.Analyzing its influence has a strong practical significance. This paper uses the four-year sample survey data of the China General Social Survey(CGSS)database in 2010,2012,2013,and 2015 to conduct research from three aspects. The factors of fertility desire;the second is to analyze the impact of income on fertility desire;the third is to analyze and verify through linear regression,Logit,Probit models. The research conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)As the income level of men in the family increases, the fertility desire is on the rise.(2)As the income level of women in the family increases, the fertility desire first increases and then decreases.(3)The higher the family's level of non-labor income, the higher the willingness to have a second child.(4)The lower the family's economic level in their society, the lower their fertility will.
